Very useful little knife,don’t even know you have it on your belt.It came sharp,and I put it on ceramic stones and leather strop,and now it’s razor sharp,plus it’s on sale.Great deal,thanks knifecenter.

my new favorite self defense knife

I've been carrying knives for over 20 years now. For the most part, it was a folding knife of some sort, mainly my Spyderco Paramilitary 2 or Strider SMF. I then started going away from folders and moving towards fixed blades. For the better part of almost 2 years now, I have been carrying a Benchmade SOCP as my primary defensive knife, and also a Chris Reeve Large Sebenza 21 as my utility knife. I liked the SOCP because of its finger ring and thought it was cool twirling it around. Only thing with the SOCP is that you have to pretty much draw the knife from the ring, meaning you won't exactly have a good proper grip immediately. I then started researching shank type knives and that's when I came across the CRKT Obake. I have a few CRKT knives and always thought they were good knives for the money. I have one of their early Strike knives with the faux ray-skin wrap and really love the feel of it. So when I saw this knife with the faux ray skin wrap, it was a no brainer. I immediately loved the knife! It is the perfect side and width for my purposes as a low-profile self-defense knife. The knife is very thin and not long enough that it will poke you when it's tucked into your waistband. It feels oh so good in the hand! That ray-skin if very grippy and inspires confidence. The knife itself is VERY light! It moves very quickly and is very easy to slice, stab, draw, etc. I use the sheath as it was intended and have it tucked IWB appendix style. It pulls very fast from the sheath! I bought 4 of these knives, and found its smaller brother the Skoshi, which is a bit too small for me. Why did I buy 4?, I have a feeling they might get discontinued soon just like it's little brother. I now carry the Obake, SOCP and my Sebenza, yup, I carry all 3 knives at once. It's very easy to do considering how light the Obake and SOCP are and their profiles. FWIW, I'm also LEO and carry my Glock 26 as well. !D

My New EDC

This is just a great EDC to have on your person compared to my old 1 i got back in the 90's while in the infantry. it's small, light, easy to deploy, easy to position and comfortable. Only have had mine for a few weeks now but have been carrying everywhere i go and trying it in many different carry position with no problems. This makes for a great back up also for those who are on duty in LE/SE fields.

More than expected

Great concealed knife for EDC, light and noble to the hand. Great grip. The aesthetics are just great, felt in love when first saw it in my hand, feels and looks better than in pictures. The cord wrapped feels tight and safe, ia have stabbed wood and ballistic gel and keeps in my hand, although great for slashing, could make some sushi with it. I just love how i can hide it in my belt where its kydex sheath feels like there was nothing, actually sometimes i think it felt, but no, its there, in its place (sheath and knife), behind my rigger belt. Even though its new, it could be sharper, its good, but could be much better. The Knifecenter service, was just perfect. Thank you guys, you got yourselves a new faithful and loyal client.

Nice little carry knife

I got one of these mostly for my collection, But if you want something small and light to carry it is awesome. Comes with a nice sheath for quick deployment, feel really good in the hand and is big enough and sharp enough for every day jobs.

Perfect quick response defense knife

I carry this knife as a close quarters defense knife for when a situation is to close do draw the firearm. Thankfully I have never used it, but am certain it will be there if that day ever comes. The sheath pulls away cleanly and the handle provides good grip. For the service I expect this knife to provide i can't imagine a better knife,, especially for the price.

This is a great traditional design executed in modern materials, in the way of a kaiken or small tanto. Elegant, sharp, well made.

It’s $24.95 not a$2495 custom blade.

Reading some of the negative reviews on here makes me wonder about people’s sanity. They are on the edge of stupidity. It’s a tidy little budget knife that does the job. If you can’t get it sharp ask someone capable. Mine isn’t far of razor sharp. Yes the sheath is plastic (as advertised) but does the job perfectly.

Excellent steel

Excellent knife for every day use. The long sharp point is very useful for that purpose. I use a 10 inch 3 sided Jewelstick, diamond rod, to sharpen it. I use the middle grade only on the jewelstick for sharpening it. This steel does very well for holdening a sharp edge. It sharpens beyond belief and is not that hard to sharpen. Why other manufacturers do not use this steel in their knives is beyond me. I believe they make several other grades above this steel which makes me wonder how good they are for use in knives. This is a Chinese steel used in this knife which surprised me since so much of their steel used in bolts etc., seems to be to soft and not heat treated. I don't know how well this knife would do being used to prying. I use it for cutting only and use some other tool that is made for prying with.

Great knife

Great knife, sharp out of the box.Really love the handle. I use at work cutting everything from rope to boxes. I also bought the skoshi, smaller size same great quality.

Hate the sheath

I have nothing but praise for the knife, On the other hand, the sheath sucks big time. I have never been a big fan of Kydex (plastic) sheaths, but this is the worst I've come across. WAY too tight - I shouldn't to exert more than a firm pull to get the knife free. I have some nice leather available and plan to make a deeper sheath for EDC purposes ASAP. I don't plan on using the supplied belt attachment either because its carry options are too limited,

Beautiful little knife

This is a very nice option for edc concealed carry. The paracord wrapped handle is nice & right & feels great in the hand. Nice simple design that functions well. Wish the blade itself would come a little sharper, but was easily fixed & now has a razors edge to go along with the super sharp point. Sheath is great , fits knife tight & has variety of options on how to carry. Excellent design.

I like it

This knife is sharp, and feels good in the hand. The only draw back is it smells like I just cleaned my gun with it, after I shot 500 rounds...... I'd still recommend buying it, just might not be something to cut your food with.

Very cool!

Dont know what the bad rviews are about unless they just got one that snuck past quality control. The knife is tight in Sheath. Super sharp blade. Cool design on blade. Ment to be wraped around belt or belt loop and yanked on for quick deployment.. (watch youtube videos on it ).. the added skull bead is a nice touch!

Knife looks really good feels great in my hand and the blade is shaveing sharp. The only drawback is how difficult it is to get it out of the sheath. Overall good knive im pleased with it.

Small, Concealable Blade

Another winner from CRKT delivered by KnifeCenter. To me, the only drawback is weight, as I would wish it a tad more blade-heavy. I liked the TiNi finish, which as proved to be surprisingly durable, the cord-wrapped handle with excellent grip & its durable and flexible carry system which keeps it accessible 'til needed(once configured properly). It compares favorably to others costing much more yet you feel as if you got more than you bargained for(or hoped for).To me it seems most consumer-friendly of the Burnley line, as it could ALMOST be construed cutting line or chopping vegetables on a block. As single-minded a purpose as it seems to have, in that purpose it does very well, with little fuss & for not a lotta dough.

Won't hold an edge

I love the design of this knife, but the blade material is awful. It can be sharpened but the edge won't stand up to any use. I also have a CRKT Nishi and it suffers the same problem. It's real shame, these are interesting knives that would definitely be my favorites if they were even average at holding an edge. But this is far below average. I don't know what went wrong here, but it's maddening.

Is This A Frost Cutlery Collaboration?

Received the knife today. Never been more unimpressed with the sharpness and lack of quality of blade material. First, the blade arrived from CRKT lacking any edge. Dragging it across the thumbnail saw no biting. Couldn't cut paper--nothing. This knife is marketed as a defensive blade? I tried my best to sharpen it on my Spyderco angled sharpener but had no luck. I gave it off to my brother to hit on his Edge Pro Apex... no luck. This steel is some of the worst I have seen, I would put it on the quality of Frost Cutlery. I love the design, as evident by my ownership of the Heiho, Hissatsu, and the Otashi No Ken--but no awesome design can overcome poor building materials. Don't buy this knife if you want a reliably sharp blade.

Unimpressed. ..

Anticipated receiving this piece and it will be another "gifted" blade. So far I've given away 3 CRKT blades because of the cheap materials used in their production. Though this is an impressive design the lack of quality materials ruins it. To put it in perspective, the paracord wrapped handle is it's best feature. The sheath is made of plastic and does not hold the blade securely. I will normally be stoked with a new blade, but this one just got thrown in "the drawer". I will definitely stick to Spyderco, SOG, Buck, Cold Steel and Emerson tools. The only CRKT tool I hold onto is the M-16 folder I bought 15 yrs ago.
