Incredibly agile ergonomic blade. Swiftly dispatch opponents with the sharp Persian blade. I wrapped my handle with grip tape. My preference. Shesth is excellent. Comes with tech lok. I wear this Scout carry for left handed draw. Knifecenter- THEE BEST for knowledge of items and fantastic shipping!!!

Better Than Expected!

I bought this knife as an addition to my loadout. I was looking for something that has great balance and was a serious slicer as it will primarily be a defense tool. It has a great feel, the balance is perfect for my intended purposes and it was shaving-sharp out of the box. I have carried CRKT blades as my EDC knifes for years and am completely happy with this new addition. The included TekLok was a nice touch, as it increases my carry options. Overall, I feel I got more than I expected.

Great knife

A great knife to be used against the bad boys. I carry this knife in my front pocket all day. There's one more CG in the streets of Mexico now. I was in contact with Austin McGlaun via facebook groups for some info about this knife, what a great person!!

Love at First Sight

I’m a sucker for up-swept Persians, anyway, so when I saw the sexy lines on this Clever Girl, I fell head-over-heels, and had to make her mine (don’t tell the wife). Kudos, to Austin McGlaun, on this beautiful design. Unfortunately, my State won’t allow this to be lawfully carried, at least as ‘concealed’ (maybe as a hunting knife, kinda a legal gray area), or, I would make this my EDC. Only complaint is, I wish they had used better steel. SK5 is only rated 54-56 RC (hardness), so be prepared to sharpen often. Come nice and sharp. Nice long hollow ground. I’d sure like to meet her big sister, 7”-9” blade, in CPM-154, CPM-S35VN, or other high end steel. I can dream, can’t I?

Clever Girl for my Mrs.

Excellent quality as usual. My only complaint was the sheath was so tight it was difficult to draw requiring a little file work to loosen it up for safe and ready handling.

Perfect fighting tool.

This knife is not an EDC. It wont do everything; It's not a sharpened crowbar. Folks, it's a fighting knife. The blade is beautifully designed and easy to reshape any way you want. It's a blade that you baby and take care of. The handle was a bit narrow for me so I wrapped one turn of para chord tightly around it. The shape is perfect. I wear the sheath inside my waistband with a five inch loop of para chord through the sheath and around my belt.The draw is lightning fast and that blade shape is designed perfectly for cuts, punctures, and come- alongs and compliance techniques. It's perfect for a variety of fighting styles.

It's a cutter for sure!

Great trailing point for skinning. The tip is plenty strong enough for great piercing. It's an unbelievable slicer!! Even great for food prep chores around camp.

Excellent Self Defence Knife

I bought this knife as a backup self defence knife... What can I say, excellent knife, razor sharp straight out of the box..Arrived in record time to Canada. Handle as an excellent texture, that will stay in the hand..sheath is a great fit..not too tight/not too slack. I like the tek-lok too, good snap design. didn't expect the blade to be so long!! and nice pommel. overall well worth the purchase

Excellent design and value

If you’re looking for a modern fighting knife and don’t want to spend hundred this is for you. Balance is excellent. The scales are grippy and fat and the handle is well contoured. The blade is beefy sharp and well designed for multiple fighting styles. I also like that it’s single edged since I live in a state that bans double edged weapons for carrying. It also can pass as a slicer so I keep it on my kitchen knife rack for display and if I ever need to really have a knife fight.

Awesome but..

Awesome design but would love to see it available in a more premium and stainless steel.an FDE or Coyote version would nice too. most of all,I would love to see a redesigned smaller version of this knife in magnacut steel with a Karambit style finger ring with the sheath and G10 scales in FDE or Coyote.it would be perfect to mount upside down on the shoulder strap of my multicam plate carrier.I’ve been considering getting the TOPS CUT 4.0 for a while because the design is perfect for what I want but I really want something stainless.I will probably just end up getting the Toor Serpent

Flawless! Great Design, Perfectly Executed by CRKT

Own a few CRKT knives and this is by far my favorite and my favorite fixed blade knife in my collection. The Clever Girl is a great design that CRKT has executed perfectly. It's a flawless knife, without any suggestions I could make to improve the product. Fit and finish is outstanding. No defects. Love the milled G10 handles - it's one of the features that makes this a truly outstanding knife - its aesthetically pleasing and more importantly it grips great and the handle shape makes the knife very comfortable to hold - best handle on any knife I own. Would like to see CRKT come out with this handle on other fixed blades too and offer it on a variety of blade shapes. The sheath holds the knife securely and doesn't suffer any drawbacks. Doubt you'd ever need to use the knife for self defense because the sight of this blade is sure to scare away any reasonable opponent. I would be willing to pay a lot more for this knife and at its current price should be snapped up without hesitation. Highly recommend the Clever Girl - I love it and you will too.

Updated review

I am amending an earlier review. When I first recieved the knife it appeared the knife was unable to be extracted from the sheath. I and a couple friends tried to draw it and were perplexed by the difficult time we were having. We tried wearing the blade on a belt and pulling to effect a draw and were having some difficulty. It requires some pressure applied along the junction of the sheath with the spine of the knife. I'm now having greater ease in drawing the blade in a standard forward grip. I'm not sure this allows a draw from the Ice Pick/Reverse grip position or not . The sheath definitely has good retention. Aside from this , the blade is wonderful. The handle is quite nice, the blade is nice and sharp and the sheath comes with a very nice TekLok accessory. It moves well in hand and transfers nicely....it is a "Silat Knife" for sure. I do like that it is "Texas Legal"( 5.5 inches or under) regarding blade length, but is still large and hefty enough to be a great self defense tool, if needed.

Good for its intended perpose.

Overall design is perfect for its intended purpose, self defense. Weight and balance is good. The knife carries well and is suitable for advanced fighting styles. This is a single purpose tool, fighting, not good for much else. As an EDC, the blade material is too soft. The edge roles very easily. I put a convex edge on it and I'm hoping for the best, but the blade needs a better harder steel. The handle is very small for proper gripping in a fight. I wrapped a single twist of para chord around the entire handle and dramatically changed the dynamics of the knife. It's a great tool with the changes I made; fatter handle with more grip, convex edge. A six or eight inch para chord loop threaded through the top holes in the sheath make for a great carry package; sheath inside the pants, para chord looped around the belt. Very comfortable carry.

Decent blade cost to much for what it is

Decent blade but didn't realize it was as big as it is. Not a flaw just didn't fit my intended use. I like blade shape just thought the knife was smaller. The sk5 sounds like tin when plucked. I don't like g10. I'm a micarta person. Overall knife is constructed well good looking but the large size and steel choice not the greatest

Sheath issues

Overall I believe the blade is an excellent self defense design. My Fiance gave this to me.... and it came jammed in the sheath which is soooo tight I still have not been able to remove the knife. I see no retaining locks or any such thing and I'd expect to have the knife deploy with a reasonably firm tug. . Set up the Tek Lok , mounted it on my belt and still can't draw the knife from the sheath with a fairly forceful pull.. I'm afraid if I get too vigorous there might be a safety issue. Guess I'll have to get my vise-grips out and see if I can finally get the sheath off the knife.
