I dont know why this isnt more popular
So I am not a big connoisseur of machetes. But it was between this and the pack golok form condor. I am very glad I went with this item. I have very large hands (my palm is over 4.5 inches wide) and this fits amazing. The overall finish is great and is a very well developed tool. It is well thought out and good construction. I use it for generally medium work, making hasty blinds, and clearing lanes. Ive also used it to take the ribs off of the spine of a few hogs, and it works very well. Holds a good edge and is easily sharpened. Well worth the price.

It may be small, but it's a big deal
Compared to other machetes, it may lack in length. But this "little" blade does the job. I don't know if David from Arkansas got a bad item, but I find no problem with the sheath, And my "mah"-chete was razor sharp right out of the box. I was ready to give it a little ceramic touch-up, but that was unnecessary. I took it down to a heavily wooded area about half a mile from my place, and man, does this blade CUT! I find the compact size a plus for backpacking, as I live less than five miles from the Appalachian Trail at the north end of the Shenandoah Valley. If you're looking for a compact, reliable bush cutter, you can't go wrong with the Mah-chete!

One tough field knife
I use it as a all around camp knife, it handles all chores with ease. The edge was sharp out of the box, I tuned it up a bit with ceramic sticks. I feel it will serve me well for years hard field use.

A little different
I really like this knife, it holds and handles a little different than other knives that I have, mainly just due to the handle's shape. The knife itself seems like a good knife so far, but the sheath is just pure junk. I've had it for about 2 weeks now and the grommets are coming apart. For the price, they could have a good leather sheath ( if Condor can, why can't Columbia River?). Be prepared to spend some time working on the edge. The 1 I received was all but blunt.
