This one was a gift. I sent it to my brother, who custom makes windsor chairs and other colonial style furniture, starting with a log. I have one, and my son, who is a chef, has one. He uses his for opening crates, cutting samples of produce, and opening the odd wine bottle.

Most Exalted God Emperor of the Known Universe

Title - for christsake ! Where was this knife when I had a title, actually, it wasn't a title qua title, but rather a rank. This would have been a great knife when I was in the Rangers - heavy enough to not lose track of, of a goodly size to to tuck into the back of an ammo pouch, and with a blade heavy enough to be really useful. So far, for someone who does not like utility knives, this has turned out to be a dandy of toolbox knife.

Clever but clunky

This is a very clever knife but just a bit larger than I expected/needed. Despite it's cleverness it's kind of boring looking too. Not a bad knife at all really just not what I was expecting. It also doesn't look like it would stay locked open real well but that is more of a quick assessment than actual experience.

Novelty or useful?

This knive is actually a medium sized knife. I thought it would be smaller based on the picture, however, it is bigger than it looks. I like this knife as an unusual style. I am not sure if I like it as a novelty or as a really useful knife though. It takes some practice and skill to be able to open it with one hand, but once you figure out how to do it, it's pretty fun. The blade is sharp and you can stick your fingers through the spacing to get a nice grip. I gave it a 3 because it is hard to recommend it for a useful purpose. It might be more novelty. Just my two cents.
