Favorite CRKT to Date

The Pilar 3 is now my go-to EDC. I am a fan of CRKT, and this has quickly become my favorite. Hair popping sharp out of the box, easy to maintain, smooth action, quick open with thumb or middle finger flick. The size is perfect for small and large EDC tasks. I consider it my CRKT Poet’s big brother.

Great EDC

Pros: very sharp OTB, great ergonomic handle, perfect deep carry pocket clip, light weight Cons: could use a flipper tab or larger thumb hole but still a winner

Awesome knife with one flaw

This knife is my absolute favorite budget option. Almost every CRKT I’ve had has had issues, but this one is absolute quality. Perfect fit and finish, came ver sharp, and SMOOTH. Smooth as butter on bearings. The one thing I have noticed is that the bead blast on the lock side rusts fairly easily. I find spotting all over it. I’ve thought about cerakoting it but on such an inexpensive knife, I don’t know if it’s worth it.

Best Pilar yet!

This takes all the best parts of the original Pilar design and improves significantly on action, pocket clip, blade shape, and size. Unlike the 2nd gen (Pilarge) this preserves the original flipper-less design resulting in great ergonomics when using the finger choir. This feels less bulky than the Pilarge but still suffers from overly thick blade stock. Pocket clip is countersunk (even the screws) and deep carry, but true to the original in overall look. A great knife for the price.

Out of all knives in stock I must have gotten the WORST!

I like CRKT products, and almost every one I've purchased has been fantastic, but this one was just awful. I like the design and the blade is perfect, but my poor rating comes from the internal workings in my knife. Every time I open or close it, there's SOMETHING inside scraping the hell out of the blade itself, and I tried to take mine apart to solve the problem, but my attempts proved useless. I couldn't see anything visibly wrong inside, and the problem remained (though it didn't get worse) when I put it back together. I'm very disappointed.
