I carry a pocket knife for self defense only. I do not cut anything with this knife unless it is an emergency. The rock solid feel of the blade in the housing and the size of the blade give this knife an advantage over slimmer versions for cutting through clothing. Other knives are too bulky or flimsy.

Pretty disappointed. I was looking to replace my Kershaw Cryo. After years of heavy use and abuse, I had sharpened away a lot of the blade. However, it is still an EDC workhorse. I was happy with the 8Cr13 blade steel, it was my go to in my small arsenal for completely breaking down deer harvests. It was the only blade where I could debone an entire deer without re-sharpening. I figured this CRKT with the same steel and comparable price could be my next workhorse. So far, I am not sure. Some of my issues when comparing it to the Cryo are Factory grind – not even side to side, very rough (maybe less than 400 grit), and actually has steps where the grind was not continued down the curve of the blade. Handle finish – my biggest disappointment. I carry it clipped to the same pocket I carry my keys. Have always carried my knife there. After only a few days, what was beautiful black handle is now littered with aluminum colored knicks and ware. It hasn’t been mistreated and I feel that causal contact with other items in a pocket shouldn’t mark it up like that. In a few weeks I expect the finish will be gone completely. Lock – the liner lock material is about half the thickness of the Cryo. It hasn’t been an issue yet but I feel a lot more confident in the strength of the Cryo lock. Open action – being ball bearing I was expecting more. The liner lock drags on the blade so hard you wouldn’t know it was ball bearing. I have cheap plastic washer blades that open smoother. Pocket clip depth – I knew it was not as deep as the Cryo but figured it would not matter much. It does, within 1 week of carrying it, I have snagged it twice on clothing and pulled it form my pocket. Luckily I felt it each time.
