Beautiful blade, nice handle with mediocre flip action
I love the unique styles of many CRKT knives and own six of them. I loved the video I saw on this knife. What drew me to this particular knife was the unusually shaped thick blade and its thickness, the large hole in the handles when the blade is deployed (which reminds me of a bushcraft knife), its size, and comfort in my hand when the knife is out. The knife feels great in my hand. The brushed finished of the blade looks and feels good and its wicked sharp. What I am very unhappy about is the assisted flip action, which makes it hard to deploy the knife. The attempt flip assist is below average to mediocre and my index finger is red and sore from trying to get a purchase on the small flipper. I have medium sized hands and the flipper is small, while the blade is not, and its hard to get enough pressure to flip the knife out. I wish this knife had a thumb stud on it because the blade is rather slippery to pull out of the handle without the flip action. If only CRKT had spent a little more time on refining the flipping action on this knife, it would be a perfect knife. I'm giving this knife 3 stars and might return it because its so hard to flip out although it looks and feels great once out.
