A stout little knife
I bought it to pocket carry. It is a small, inexpensive, stout little knife for sure and lighter than a pocket knife.

Tough enough...
I am evaluating this as a potential backpacking knife. The criteria are that it should be able to open packages of freeze-dried food, slice cheese, cut a willow branch for a marshmallow stick or makeshift fishing pole, and, if necessary, perform the functions of a survival knife in a bad situation. One of the ideas I had is that any fixed blade knife would be better than a folder in any emergency. Trying to baton a folding knife through a chunk of wood is almost guaranteed to break the knife. However, you can baton a fixed blade knife with a solid tang through almost anything. To prove this, I batonned The Testy through several pieces of 2x4 wood, first with the grain, and then against the grain. Unsurprising for a knife made of 420 steel, the Testy suffered no damage at all, and actually minimal dulling of the blade. It was thoroughly usable after fairly rigorous testing; after stropping, it was razor sharp again. At about 1.5 oz. with the sheath, it's actually lighter than any of my folding knives. It's big enough to perform the normal backpacking chores, and it's tough enough for the occasional emergency. The handle is not comfortable for heavy use - I'll want to use a pair of gloves or something to soften the grip if I need to use it heavily. I'm hoping to give it some more thorough testing actually backpacking later this summer.

Very good but not perfect
Light and handy as a pocket fixed-blade. As a necker, however, the sheath is a little loose. I had the knife come out of the sheath and wind up in my beltline, under my shirt. Not a downcheck, just a caution! Still glad I bought it.
