Pros: Pocket Clip, Blade Material, Overall Quality, Blade Sharpness
Cons: Weight
Solidly built tactical blade, but also a great work knife.
This is an excellent all-round knife. Personally, I use it for some harder cutting tasks than I'm willing to trust to my Kershaw Shallot (also a great knife). The reverse-tanto/modified tanto blade is nice, as you get a very long cutting edge, as well as an exceptionally strong tip. The handle, while a little weird, actually has some excellent ergonomics. As a tac knife, you've got a relatively long, multi-purpose blade that can accommodate most fighting styles, and the handle is very comfortable for both normal and icepick grips. Having some experience with Tae Kwon Do, I have to say that this knife blends perfectly with that fighting style, so much so that I hardly have to modify my technique to use it effectively. My only gripe is the LAWKS lever, and even then, it's a small one. Because the lever is located where one normally keeps their thumb, it can be somewhat intrusive when on. It's also a little difficult to flick up with your thumb, especially in a stressful situation. All in all, this a very well-built knife. The aluminium bolsters and Micarta scales are very sturdy, and actually look quite nice. AUS8 is a good steel for the price, taking and holding a good edge, and the blade shape itself is inherently very sturdy anyway. While the knife is a little too big to EDC, it makes an excellent work knife and would be great for self defense, too.
