Not Your Average Slipjoint

Initially, walk and talk was too tight and very uneven. After a couple of days of break-in and a little tweaking of the pivot screw, all is well. However, keep in mind that the action on this knife is, by design, not like a typical slipjoint. It’s more rigid and intentionally inconsistent from the closed position to fully open—very easy to open and harder to close. If you are used to a good slipjoint like GEC or my favorite, the WE Scamp, the Impinda’s action feels rough and uneven. However, when you get used to it and go back to a more traditional feeling slipjoint, the action on the traditional slipjoint seems smooth but way too easy to accidentally close. The Impinda simply feels much more secure and safe in the open position. After getting used to the Impinda’s unconventional action, I can honestly say that I prefer it over my other slipjoints. It just feels much more solid and secure. Add to that the solid engineering, extraordinarily high quality materials and fit and finish and this knife has easily become my favorite slipjoint. P.S. remove the clip as soon as you can. It’s way to rigid and tight, making it almost unusable.

Replace the Sodbuster with an Impinda

This is a best slip joint folder made. The cutting edge is under 3”. Feels substantial in hand, and overbuilt as a daily workhorse and family heirloom. Enough said.
