Fewer Parts Doesn't Mean Less Expensive
In response to Ryan's rating, less parts in the Inkosi versus the L21 (or L31) doesn't equal less quality, functionality, or cost. The Inkosi is a more robust knife, which means it uses thicker blade steel, a larger hollow grind radius, and larger pivot. These all add up to higher manufacturing costs. The blade action of an Inkosi rivals the L21 and L31, and the maintenance on an Inkosi is easier because there are less parts. Hopefully by now, Ryan has realized the Inkosi is an awesome knife that's worth every penny, and it deserves a much better score than 2 stars.

Chris Reeve Large Inkosi is a Joy to Handle
I was about to buy my first Chris Reeve, the Sebenza 25 for its thicker blade than the Sebenza 21, when knifecenter.com alerted me to the soon to be released Inkosi. It had the basic dimensions of the Sebenza 25 with some improvements: 1) clip that rests on back face rather than lockbar, giving it a better hand feel and less pressure on lockbar, 2) a grind between flat and hollow giving sharpness and blade strength, and 3) new washers and pins for smoothing action. I pre-ordered and after three weeks was sent one which arrived from VA to my door in Stockholm, Sweden in four days. Incredible. The knife is quality quality quality and feels like it in every action, opening, closing, cutting. I will use it for sailing and camping in the Stockholm Archipelago. Lives up to the reputation of Chris Reeve knives. I must complement knifecenter.com on maintaining a wonderful database of knives to help in the comparison before purchase. All in all it was a wonderful purchase experience. Bought a fine leather sheath with it (reviewed separately).

I'm a retired/disabled (by multiple sclerosis) police officer, SWAT sniper, former USMC scout/sniper. I've carried a lot of knives from all types of makers in all types of environments and this has to be best folder I've ever owned! The quality of this knife is evident at first inspection! The box contents alone show the quality of manufacture you are dealing with in Chris Reeve Knives. Class, precision, quality and function, it tops them all!

Too much hype
First off... The Frame lock in an of itself is a weak design just 1 step up from a liner lock with is also a terrible cheap out. MOST glaringly, that stop pin is free floating allowing the scales to pinch the blade. Only having 1 stand off at the butt of the knife makes the integrity between the scales inconsistent. There are several improvements on the Sebenza here but they chose to change a few things that actually make the knife worse. No more bushing pivot? That's what made Chris Reeve Knives great. I love the washer design but why not keep the bushing pivot with those amazing new washers? I really want to love this knife and it's close but it seems like a cheaped out Sebenza. Cheaped out but the same price? No thanks. 2 stars may be a bit unfair because the fit, finish and materials are top notch but when you couple that with the fact that they obviously tried to make the machining process less expensive on this knife and kept the price the same as a Sebenza is insulting to us end users. Chris Reeve Knives are suppose to be the pinnacle of standards and I, for one, hold them to that standard. I feel it is lacking in the design of this offering.
