Great folding knife
It is the only Sebenza I own and was very lucky to get it. I used to review on a daily basis the availability of it at KC. Once I saw it, I bought it. It is advertised that has CPM S35VN but I believe that is the steel of the previous models. Mine is CPM S45VN which is being put on the newest models. Having seen a lot of people saying that is the grail of folders, I had to add one to my collection (Fällknivens and Rocksteads), so if you are like me that is only willing to own one, this is it. The handles are delicious in colour and unique because of the vein. Moreover, make it a high end knife, compared to similar Sebenzas with canvas or flat. The product arrives with a birth certificate, form to register, leather pouch, cloth, tool and oils to take care of it. Last but not least, the size is perfect for an EDC.

Nearly perfect grail knife
This is my first CR knife and I think it’s pretty fantastic. The fit, finish and heft are all beyond reproach. It is a beautiful knife that lives up to the hype. A few things worth noting; 1. It probably seems obvious but since the burl inlays are natural wood there will be some differences in the coloring and burls in your knife compared to the honey colored stock photo. Mine is more of a wheat color with a reddish color toward the top of the handle. Just be prepared as it can be a bit of a surprise at just how much variation is possible, but also know that because of this you are nearly guaranteed that no one else will have a knife exactly like yours. 2. The satin finish on this knife is less of a satin and more of a tumbled kind of finish, you can tell it’s been tumbled as opposed to a straight satin finish. It makes for a very interesting almost saddle sparkly kind of finish, very appealing. 3. The listing description states the blade steel as S35VN but my box and paperwork for my knife lists it as S45VN, a very pleasant surprise to see the upgrade. I obviously don’t know if this is the case for all batches of these so your mileage may vary. But in my case a very welcome and pleasant surprise that felt like a free upgrade. 4. The thumb stud on these are terrible. I have seen this mentioned in reviews but it’s hard to convey since this is such a good knife. But with that being said it makes the thumb stud deployment a big disappointment for such a high quality over engineered knife. If you are use to the smooth and quick deployment of say a Benchmade Bugout or Spyderco you will be disappointed. The “beehive” style thumb stud has a point and really does not allow quick deployment unless you fling the knife as you flick the thumb stud, and while I have read snippets indicating this is intentional as the knife is not a fidget toy, I have several times fumbled with opening this knife due to the terrible thumb stud design. Hopefully with time as the knife is used it will become easier or maybe I can adjust it. 5. The included leather holder is nice and seems of good quality but I wonder who is using a sheath for a pocket knife that has no belt loop. Is someone out there pulling out their sebenza from their pocket and then removing it from the sheath? 6. In closing this knife while having flaws as they all do is nearly perfect and I wouldn’t hesitate to buy it again, which I may just do ;0)

My most expensive knife, one of my worst knives.
It’s beautiful, feels great in the hand but it’s gritty. Nd stiff. I will have to try to loosen the screws on the pivot but I sure as heck shouldn’t have to.
