I have been collecting knives for many years, but I only recently turned my attention to crkt carson m16 knives. I have to say this knife was quite surprising in its solid build quality. For me, this knife checks most of my boxes in that it has just the right size, weight, feel in the hand, ease of use, and looks. It has quickly become my primary edc when wearing jeans. This knife deserves a higher grade blade steel and perhaps titanium locking liners. I think most knife folks would gladly pay more for those improvements to an already very good knife.

now this is what crkt's all about
and i do mean in a seriously good way! when crkt first started it was about modern affordable quality cutlery. no misses here! why this particular model? because it's a no brainer. to top it off, tan colored zytel doesn't absorb heat like those models in black or with metal handles. so it's cool! both in n out of the pocket. it's easy on the pocket, easy to use, n easily the edc of choice what's there to hate? except if u're a steel snob? but hey, as long as it cuts who's complaining? after all every single knife requires some looking at come some point or other. i wouldn't hesitate to replace it with the same model from now come dooms day.

Surprisingly good
Well worth the money. A bit heavy but opens easily, is razor sharp and the pocket clip is excellent.

The entire CRKT Kit Carson line are great knives at a great price, but this particular knife is my favorite all-around 'utility' knife. It opens easily with one hand. The blade is hefty, pretty substantial for folder as light as this one. Since replacing the LAWKS with the AutoLAWKS, I find one-handed closing awkward, but I find the LAWKS to provide a level of security in preventing 'fold-back' very desirable. I don't put a lot of stress on my knives but based upon the design features -- light weight, grip 'control' notch, LAWKS, hefty blade, excellent blade metal specs -- I would not be afraid to do so. If your tastes run more towards function than flair and you prefer value over bragging-rights, this is the knife for you. You get a whole lotta knife for under $40. I have many knives, including Microtechs, but this particular CRKT is the one I use the most. 'Nuff said.
