A neat EDC

I use this as EDC for work. I am an outdoor instructor, and the knife gets used for everything from light food prep, opening packaging on stock, cutting rope and cord, through to hacking up old carpet for edge protection on abseils. For such a small light knife the strength and feel is great, the lock feels bombproof and is very easy to use one-handed (in either hand) Good out of the box sharpness, and no play in the blade. well put together. The flipper design is great, and works well, and having the double flipper doesn't impede the ability to index the back of the blade with a finger when needed. Great little knife!

Edc for me, i use it for everything under the sun. I have owned a crkt "m" series knife of one variant or another since 2004 when i worked in a specialty knife store. Previous were m16 series with the zytel handles, slightly larger, big brother so to speak. The m21 is slightly smaller, has a cpl differing or removed features of the m16 series, but overall has been a tough, dependable knife. Blade comes and stays sharp, opening action can be a little tight at first, but its not an assisted open knife, so bear that in mind. You can try adjusting the screw on the blade hinge, but i dont recommend this on this model series. The m16 have more screws holding the frame together, which allows for cleaning up the action by adjusting the blade pivot screw. All in all, another great product from crkt. They, along with kershaw, and a few select others, will always be some of my favored knives in the industry.

Good small knife

I carry this knife as a second knife beater. I carry a more expensive knife for my EDC and wanted something to use for rougher things that are bad for a knife. I got this little knife and it’s perfect. Good lock up, four finger grip, not a deep carry clip, decent edge retention, good blade size, sadly serrated, feels a bit strange for a true grip but for a looser cut a package or a string grip it’s great. It’s flat so I can lay down on it and not feel it. The flipper is very easy to use due to its length, I like the “hilt” kind of finger guards, never had it fall out/off, coating doesn’t get scratched (not sure what they use), good weight (a bit heavy for tastes but for a small knife it isn’t bad). Really like that it has a thumb stud stop pin, they seem to work the best for a pin. Frame lock is a bit hard to use as it isn’t raised from the knife. Once you get used to it it’s not a problem but at first it’s a bit difficult. Blade came very sharp.

Not bad for the price

Overall this is a lightweight, well balanced, comfortable, and fairly sharp knife. However, it's not the smoothest opening knife, Kershaw and Buck have it beat easily. Also the liner-lock is a bit cumbersome to use one-handed compared to its competitors. Overall it's a decent EDC for its price but it might be worth spending a little bit more for a little bit better knife.
