This is the knife I should have had back in the military. I especially love the cross guard. Too many knives do not have such protection-which is why half of my middle finger had to be sewn back on once in service. This is the safest folder I have ever had.

Great Knife!
Awesome folder, kept its edge for a decent amount of time, fairly easy to resharpen, my go to EDC knife now, replaced a Kershaw. High quality construction, handle is ok, not sure if I should have gone with G10, this plain stuff works ok.

Used this knife for 3-4 years daily use. Hard use and have not been kind to it. Still looks just about new besides the scratching and wear that i have incurred. Solid double lock and hilt keeps your hand from riding onto the blade if your hand is slippery. Oil it once in a while and clean in dishwasher and it is non the worse for wear. Solid.

I purchased this knife as an EDC to add to my collection. It's extremly well made, easy to hold and open. Closing the blade is somewhat difficult which maybe a concern to some. The blade is very sharp with a thick back bone very strong. The LAWKS locking system makes this folder almost a fixed blade. The flipper is quite fast almost as fast as my assisted folders ! I love this knife.

Very sharp,very cool. I actually bought both of them, the one with the G10 handles and this one. I am a prepper and one is none, so both of them are mine now. Aluminium handles are smooth and have a quality feel to them. however ,with sweaty palms they might get slippery. But the blade is razorsharp and of top quality, I highly recommend this knife. by the way:The trick you see on how to open the knife works really cool.

The only downside to this knife is that the handles are a bit slippery. In hindsight i would have gone with the G10 version of this knife. Other than that i love it. Super fast opening and very smooth action. The AutoLAWKS is a pain. Regular LAWKS doesn't bother me but the Auto version is the first thing i am going to remove.

I read the reviews of this knife and with my experience with this manufacturer I decided to put it in my wish list. I sold CRKT knives for a few years prior to being on the other side of the counter. I bought more than a few Benchmade and Spyderco knives in the meantime. I decided the handle issue..slippery feel..could be remedied with stippling if needed. I ordered it...or really backordered it and waited it out. I had almost forgot and then received the ship notification and then.... It came in and the only thing I would do differently is order it sooner. Maybe they made the handles a little coarser or changed the finish but it feels good to me. It really could not open faster but it closes after an additional step, which is a good thing. Because it is sharp and it stays sharp.

Fantastic idea but very poor execution. BTW handle shape is beautiful and it’s very nice to handle it in any way. Cross guard is also beautiful solution not just to protect but also to give a fast and smooth flip open action. But: 1. AUS 8; not so great as some other steels on the market (I’d pay far more for a quite better steel than AUS 8), 2. no sense at all to call “Special Forces” a knife with the blade serrations on the hottest spot you actually need, not mentioning that for the most of “SF” purposes you don’t need serration at all (actually you don’t want it at all); same could be apply for field sharpening (instead of being able to use just a one simple stone due serration you need one more extra tool eg. sharpening rod)… considering the field work, teeth on the top of serration will go off very quickly, especially Veff serration will lose it’s aggressive teeth pretty quickly (after every re-sharpening just faster and faster); no SF would want any of those happen to his knife. Also, having a few versions of M21 (14SF, 14SFG, 14G etc.) I have to notice that you CAN’T combine parts of one with any of others, even same versions seems as have a different measurements, sizes and length of liner lock, pivot hole… even pocket clip is different in size, shape and measurements as well as all of the screws. So if you think to buy a 2-3 models to make your preferred configuration you’ll be very disappointed. As I said, fantastic idea – very poor execution.

I own several M16/M21 knives and this was probably the most expensive of them all. It shares with his large and small brothers many of the winning features of this fortunate series, except, alas, one, which turned out to be pretty crucial for me: the handle quality. The handle is made of solid aluminium but, maybe due to the particular texturing they chose to apply to it, it feels quite slippery, with a strange "soapy" feeling to it. It is a very personal thing, probably... but it does spoil the overall impression of the knife for me. The blade did not come super sharp to me: it was ok but I expected more, since I have cheaper knives that are much sharper. It is a large folder so it really would have needed a "grippier" handle: as it is, although a winner in almost every other department, it does feel a bit unsafe to use.
