Bad rap

I unfortunately have folders that have broken pocket clips and we're relegated to a storage tub at worst, or sheath at best. I saw this and bought five cause three bucks is a safe bet. I tried small and large folders and love it and never saw any exposed blade on body side, and very minimal on outside. You would have to purposely try to jam a finger in to exposed side to get to the blade. Just have to call B's on 2 or more inches of exposed blade. I usually take reviews with a grain of salt and am glad for it. I will buy more as they make some knives safely usable again.

Interesting and useful

The sheath holds the knife securely in a ready position for fast opening. It looks like it will accommodate most medium sized folders.

Don't Get It

Bought this a few months ago, thought 'if CRKT makes it, it's worth a look'. Tried it with a few different knives, seemed to work best with larger, heavier-bladed, non-assisted knives, most notably the Meyerco Lightfoot folders with their thicker blades & heavier frames but it always came back to WHY??? It just seemed to be a way to get around carrying a fixed blade & to me, having that much blade exposed was a liability, more to get caught on. Maybe I'm missing the point or using it incorrectly but with proliferation of fixed blade styles I think this device falls short in execution & function...Just my opinion

Unnecessary Invention

This little unit is unsafe and just unnecessary. The difference in TIME from pulling your Knife out of your pocket - or off your gear to pulling it out of this thing - might be a second difference. If that. And in your pocket or off your gear - the blade is safely closed. Like the other review mentioned. Alot of your blade is open and exposed when fixed in this type "holder." And if your Knife is sharp as it should be - you have about 2 to 3 inches of exposed "razor blade" on your own waist ! Even if the price is damn near a "give away." You couldn't get me to carry any knife in a way that it could easily flip wide open without you even noticing. Just a bad idea.
