I received my new Counter Point 1 in AUS 10 several days ago and I like it very much especially with the grippier textured handles. I have the older Counter Point 1 in AUS 8 with the smooth handles for several years but I prefer the newer model. Both are great knives, carries in the pocket well, great for self defense, and no sticking or hard to engage or disengage the triad lock. Comes sharp OTB and had no problems cutting boxes, zip ties, rope and other materials. Cutting edge stays sharper longer than AUS 8 and easy to sharpen. Hopefully Cold Steel will make the Counter Point models in G10 scales in the future and it will be perfect. The quality is very good. The blade is well made and tough. The handle is very comfortable and grippy. The profile of the handle is thin enough that is easy to carry in my pocket. It came very sharp and although it's more of self defense item, it still does well as a working knife. After training a little bit, I'm able to flip it open really fast with just one hand. My only complaint is that it takes two hands to close it, since the lock is a bit hard once it's engaged, but I don't believe it can be closed by accident for the same reason. I've had mine for 2 years, and it's my go to EDC knife. It also very easy to disassemble for cleaning.

This will be in my defense carry rotation. Not a working knife. Knife was VERY sharp and well-profiled. I may sharpen the swedge, but it'll do just fine against 2 legged animals as is. Grip is super positive with little chance of sliding forward during a stabbing motion. Lock is very proven

Awesome knife!
So why the low rating? Quality control. No one at the factory tested this one either. Hard to open & extremely hard to close when I got it. Had to take it apart. Honed the rough edges that were keeping the lock from moving freely when pressed, I took some of the bend out of the spring to make it easier to disengage the lock too. Also carefully bent the clip to take some of the tension off of it. Now it's my favorite folder (I have many). The pictures don't do it justice, they make it look short and fat, it's definitely not. But it is a bit long and heavy for carrying in your front pocket all day.

Cold Steel Counter Point, 4'' blade.
Upon arrival, opening the knife, OK. Closing the knife, not OK. I had to use a plier to get the lock back to give. Ended up, having to relieve the rear of the blade to get it to close using my finger, fingers on the back lock. Guarantee, know one tested my knife before it was shipped. The pocket clip is too stiff and not wide enough. The holes in the knifes handle allows the clip to get too great a grip. Wouldn't use the clip on anything other than new heavy jeans. I've had mine for about 2 years. Rarely carry it, too heavy. The knife sure is intimidating though!

Disgusting quality
First of all, I'd like to say that I'm disappointed in thequality of this knife. On the box there is sign " We warrant that ghis product is free of defects in workmanship and materials.". So lets start. When I get it, I hope to get flat grind, although the photos and companies said that it had hollow grind. But when I opened the box, I was dissapointed with the worksmanship quality. Unsymmetrical blade grind, uneven false edge, the feather (the central edge) is not straight. It is wavy on both sides. The bevel is uneven. To tell the truth it was the first and the last cold steel (aus 10 steel). Moreover I looked in the internet the review about cold steel counter point ii, but it had the same problems.
