JUST GOT MINE TODAY; And I Got Cut!
So, I got my Cold Steel Safe Maker 1 today (May 7th, 2015) and was questioning if it was worth the buy before it got here- sometimes I go nuts like that, but when it got here I got the butterflies inside like a little kid getting a surprise gift from his Daddy- I was so excited to have this thing. So I firmly grabbed around the sides of the sheath and YANKED this thing out the sheath and I thought, "MAN, that thing was in there tight, just like they said in the reviews." I felt the weight of this push dagger while looking at it and thought to myself, "Man this thing is bigger in person than what they show in the videos on YouTube; that polish is REAL clean- man this thing is NICE!" Then the most stupidest thought came to my head, I looked at the extra plastic protruding on each side and around the sheath and I looked at the extra plastic on both sides of the sheath right next to where the blade goes in and I said, "Hmmm, I wonder if I were to put my thumb here, and my index finger here; and pull, I wonder if the blade would cut me?" I said to myself, "It might not be wise to do that, because it might cut ya- Screw it, Let's do it." I gave it a firm and steady pull...SHING! -right across the thumb, and I was bleeding. I then said to myself, "Well that wasn't a very smart move." I walked into the bathroom to get a bandage behind the mirror cabinet, after I got the bandage and closed the mirror cabinet, I looked at myself in the mirror smiling and my wise self said to my boneheaded self "I told you, I told you, you dumb dumb, not to do it, I knew that would happen; but, you did it anyway. Now go tape up your thumb you Blockhead, maybe you learned something today." Now, the moral of this story is... as beautiful as this push dagger is when in hand, DO NOT FORGET that this is a weapon, and weapons should be handled with Care, and most importantly, Awareness. -Enjoy your purchase. P.S. If you see me and would like to see the proof, just ask to see my thumb and I will show it to you.
