My Push Knife buddy

I carry it concealed for protection, and luckily have not had to use it. I love how it fits in my hand and the solid scabbard which protects me because that blade is very sharp. And like I stated already I also have a your Karambit with that same type scabbard. This is not a toy and has a very specific use, and is not for children to play with.

Quality at a price that can't be beat.

I own several push daggers. This is the lightest and fastest in the hand. More concealable than the Safe Maker I, but I have to admit I do like the Safe Maker I and the Drop Forged Push Daggers from Cold Steel better than this one. The sheath is awesome, the clip is trash. The Ulti Clip on the Drop Forged is far superior. I highly recommend taking the clip out and using the inlets for paracord to allow for a horizontal draw off of the belt.

Excellent Conceal Defense Weapon

The first thing you need to do is throw that bead chain away and replace it with something stronger. I tested drawing it from around my neck and under my shirt about 15 times or so before the chain broke (and I was not doing it particularly hard). I replaced mine with a breakaway knotted paracord and it works great. I wear it around my neck so that the handle rests just below my solar plexus, and even with a thin t-shirt, it's barely noticeable. The sheath holds the knife very well, even though it deploys quite easily with a good tug. It also offers good protection against the blade, as it is a hard plastic. The clip is rather useless to me, as it seems to fit only thin belts (and I wear a gun belt). The blade itself is quite sharp and it secures nicely with the grip. As someone pointed out, it is a one sided grind, which was a little disappointing, but then again, I'm not looking to pierce steel, just defend myself. This has become my backup EDC weapon to my 9mm. This is really a 4.5 stars review, just due to the weak chain and lame clip. For the price though, I think it's still well worth it.

So Far my Favorite

Safe Keeper II is my very favorite of the Cold Steel push dagger line. The blade thickness provides a "strong" rigid blade, while the blade broadness allows for a razor sharp edge to match the sharp point. The carry option of is more versatile than the smaller "Urban Edge" because this sheath comes with a belt/boot clip. The clip is made of polymer (secure-ex) which might be an issue if it wasn't so durable. The polymer "clip" is actually a "plus" over metal ones, because you can carry it "clip outward" also and not have the worry or scratching cars or other objects that you might brush against. There is also a "ball-chain" for neck carry and this is not much bigger an overall package than the Urban Edge Neck Knife. This is a plus in every way for a T-handle model. Hey- its AUS 8 steel also. Meaning its tuff AND resists rust !

Finally got one, glad I did

Although a push dagger could theoretically be used for other things, it's specifically designed to be a self-defense tool, and I hope to go my whole life without ever being in a situation that made a push dagger the ideal weapon. But I'm a collector and completionist, so when the CS Safe Maker II was discounted a bit for a sale, I figured I'd pick one up, because it had the reputation for being the quintessential expression of the design. It definitely lives up to the billing: just the right size for easy control, very, very lightweight, and the grip is both comfortable and secure in the hand. Short of crushing fingers or rendering them unconsciousness, there's almost no way someone would be able to disarm a person with a solid grip on the Safe Maker. The CS really nailed though is the sheath. It holds the bladely tightly--there's no way it's going to fall out--but not so tightly that it can't be drawn quickly. Again, this knife definitely lives up to its reputation, and whether like me you just bought it as a curiosity, or you actually intend to use it, for about $30-40, it's well worth the small investment.

Great buy

I was looking for an edc knife. I had decided on push daggers and chose this one because of the size, price, brand, and sheath. It has turned out to be perfect in all those areas. I carry this one at 10 or 11 o’clock next to a spare magazine, and getting ready to buy another to wear at 4 or 5 o’clock. You know what they say, two is one, one is none.

I have always wanted to own an Emerson knife since I used to work for a company of a similar name. My company has since changed names, but I wasn't going to miss out on this opportunity. I picked up two knives, one for my wife and one for me. The action is a little stiff, but I am sure will loosen up with time. I do like the Wave (R) feature, but it is a little hard to use because of the stiff action. I plan to move to this knife for my EDC and put my Buck Red-point in my drawer once it gets broken in.

Very nice fit and finish, although hard to get Razer sharp

This push dagger seems to be very functional and will do very well in any self defence situation that could possibly happens. Awesome last ditch option and is quite easily concealed. The only thing that is a little difficult with it is sharpening it so that It is Razer sharp, but that is not as critical as it is sharp and fine enough to pierce easily. All in all, very nice and would recommend!

It's what I was looking for.

It's a very utilitarian design, nothing fancy about it. It's thick and sturdy and well designed. The only problem I have is the sheath, I don't trust the belt clip. I am worried that when I actually need to withdraw the knife that the sheath will come off too. I would prefer to have a better way to secured it to my belt. Also, the clip will not fit on a standard leather belt, you need nylon webbing. Other than that, it is nearly perfect, and a good value.

Unless you are familiar with this knife, the description and the pictures leave out one important piece of information: The blade grind is one-sided, i.e., the back side is essentially flat, like the smaller Urban Edge push dagger. This means that the point is not as strong as it would be with a two-sided grind. It's not worth the hassle of returning the knife, but it's disappointing. The sheath is exceptionally secure to the point of making it difficult to pull the knife. If you use the included neck chain and attempt to pull the knife with one hand, I'm fairly confident that the chain would break first. These things aside, the knife is lightweight, maneuverable, and sharp.

Poor sheath design

The knife arrived sharp and the handle is comfortable to hold. However, this is not an easy knife to sharpen once dulled. The sheath is a weakness due to the belt clip having been designed for the thinnest of belts. A belt more than 1/8” thickness will bow the sheath belt clip, allowing the entire sheath to pull away from the belt along with the knife. Also, the chain that is supplied with the sheath, if you choose to carry the knife around your neck, is weak and will easily break.
