I give it a 5 star because it's such a great deal for the price. While 8Cr13 isn't a premium steel (by far), it's perfectly good for my daily use of this knife. The size is about perfect for a daily carry beater, and the design fits very comfortably in hand (I wear a large size glove). While the tri-ad lock certainly doesn't need any additional safety features, the fact that you can lock the blade in place might provide that additional level of comfort for some people. The GRN scales are really nice on this model - way better quality than much of the competition. Overall and excellent knife for the price.
Positives looks exactly as advertised sharp out of the box feels good in the hand The pocket clip is functional Negatives Thumb stud is too smooth (thumb slipping off of stud) making one handed openings awkward Blade is stiff and is difficult to open one handed no sheath of any kind but that's neither here nor there
