Fits great in hand in two major positions. Lock and blade are very tight. Sharp,sharp,sharp. Big, but thin. This can be a EDC. My biggest gripe is hand and finger placement to strong fingering it open. It's winner for many reasons.

This knife locks so strongly that it may as well be a full-tang fixed blade. Is this a good thing? Yes! It can take any amount of abuse and shrug it off. Are there drawbacks? Only initially. While the lock is initially hard to disengage, and the blade difficult to open one-handed, these difficulties lessen immensely with repeated use. Also, these problems can quickly be remedied by leaving the knife in a halfway open position for a period of 5-7 days. And, critically, the knife will remain just as strong as before. If you want a knife that’s as tough as it looks, you’ve got it here. Is it for everyone? No. Do I cherish it? Yes.

Top notch folder that's easily carried due to light weight. Great slicer with penetration capability. Scary sharp out the box, typical of Cold Steel. One thing that's mentioned about Recon 1 is that the back spacer is aluminium, which adds rigidity and a quality feel. Very usable tool.

A svelt but robust 4" folder. Handle ergonomics are excellent. Subtly tactical. Perfect as a large EDC folder.

Cons: - Had this been $20-30 more expensive, I will give this a 4 star for sure. - The edge was not evenly ground, i.e. one side's bevel deeper (longer) than the other side's. - The lock requires strong depressing of the release notch to close the blade. I have strong hands and fingers, but still find it hard to do it often. Pros: - But this stays relatively sharp after my heavy uses. Because of COVID, I bought a lot online, and I usually open packages of other family members. So, this knife is very decent at retaining the edge reasonably. - The bowie tip punch through strong bags with ease without me having to touch the bag again (clean freak I am). - And the coating on the blade avoids it sticking to plastic bags or wrapping material. - The curves, grippy handle, and relatively larger handle makes cutting thick hifi speaker and signal cables easy and precise. Only complaint is that it does require me to close it with two hands when I move on to other tasks. Putting down a thick hifi cable means that it will recoil and I need to waste time to grab it and bend it again. Just my problem I guess ;) So, I might get a benchmade for the ease of closing soon. - After cutting a few days on boxes, bags, and cables, I find the knife still very sturdy with no play. But when comparing this to my Emerson knife of the same material, I find the sharpness does not stay as long. Maybe the polish?

Pros: very sharp, (sharpest knife I’ve ever owned) sturdy and well made, Sheath, heft. Cons: excessive pressure required to unlock and close, pocket clip is excessively strong and difficult to use, (I had to bend it out a bit to be able to use it), blade can’t be opened one handed. This is a good knife in many respects but the excessive back lock unlock pressure required, and I do mean excessive, takes away some of its utility and one full star. Also because of its strong spring it is very hard to open one handed.
