An awesome NO Nonsense knife!
I have had this knife for a couple of years now and I will say with certainty beyond any doubt that this is the knife you WILL WANT when things go south(war-heaven forbid, camping requirements and so forth). The 5.5-inch blade opens quickly with extrteme authority with a thwack sound once deployed with the thumb stud which parallels to the racking sound of a shotgun and locks up like a freaki'n bank vault due to the trusty Triad lock(which is one of the best features of the knife and gives me a sense of absolute trust as there is no movement of the blade once locked up-it locks up rock solid),The texture of the G10 is so grippy, ergonomic that there is no chance your hand will move forward or slip off the grip. The blade is a no-nonsense American Tanto which is thick and has a reinforced point on the tanto tip and has awesome Carpenter's CTS XHP steel which I have heard slightly surpasses S35VN steel.Be careful when you close this bad boy as it closes quickly and may be a good idea to close it horizontally keeping your fingers out the way as it has a guillotine effect!.My only complaint is that the grippy G10 needs to be smoother under the pocket clip for easier deployment of out your pants, jeans etc and I would like a deep carry clip akin to those that SOG make.Besides this,The Recon 1 Tanto is just a brilliant knife-handle with much care.
