This is my knife. There are many like it, but this one is mine… I do believe this is my favorite Cold Steel Folder. Valquero has the hook/trapping of a Kukri, belly slicing of a recurve, and if you isolate the point it appears a trailing edge, yet the point is center to the direct line of force, like a Bowie. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Valquero is not as cumbersome and clumsy as an XL Espada (Lynn Thompson’s EDC). But, if you choke back on your grip to the pommel, you have all the reach of a 7” blade. Valquero has better cutting/slicing mechanics with its long tapering flat grind than, Max 4, American Lawman, AD-10, AD-15 (all great folders, but can be lacking in blade length in certain situations) >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Arrived razor sharp from box. Opens easily one-handed with a flick of the wrist. Locks up solid, and no stickiness noted in releasing the lock (blade drops like limp bread dough). Comfortable, grippy, light weight, and agile in the hand. Fits in a pocket well with minimal imprinting for such a large knife. The AUS 10A stainless is more than adequate to hold and edge, but not too hard to sharpen. Perhaps, the most knife you can get for your dollars.
