Great knife for the price

Excellent construction and finish. Made from a single piece of steel. Handle is a little too small - but perfectly workable. The blade is an excellent shape and finish. Very keen edge. The sheath is reasonable. For the money it's an excellent buy.

Excellence in simplicity

The extremely high quality of the tanto spike is goes hand in hand with the simplicity of design. Very sharp with a good spine that doesn't flex. Great knife, would recommend it to anyone who enjoy the quality of a straight forward design. Professional service from this site as expected. Processing and delivery are always quick and accurate.

A KNIFE IN ITS PUREST FORM

This is a very sturdy product and is perfect for its purpose. The finishing on it is excellent and comes very sharp as all cold steel products do. This is a weapon in its purest form, no added features which makes it perfect for concealed carry. It could take a person a while to get used to something of this weight around there neck but as a last ditch knife this is more than capable of doing its job. I have done some stabbing tests with it and i must say that it has no problem making entry into many materials... i would like to own the whole "spike" series. And would definatly recomend this product.

Fantastic Tanto

I love this knife its a fantastic design and a fantastic price, the sheath is very "sticky" to begin with and it takes a little time to break it in, and i suggest you do that before you wear it, but since its designed to be a neck knife its better the sheath is tight rather than loose I have this one and the scottish spike and i trade off between the two and am planning to buy another one, I have a few other neck knives and cold steel has knocked the spike series out of the park. Fantastic knives at a fantastic price, buy one you wont regret it

well made and purposeful!

I picked this up to use as a workplace carry knife...I wanted something slim and purposeful, this tool delivers! The tanto style blade is very strong and the AUS 8 holds an edge respectably. my only complaint is that I wish it had a clip option for the sheath....all in all well worth the diminutive price tag..

Cold Steel Spike

This product has proved excellent for utility purposes. I also carry it when I fish and hike. The fact that it is lightweight, has a good edge, and a nasty point make this a perfect knife for almost anything. Another superb product by Cold Steel!

Cold Steel Spike - Tanto Point 4" Blade

Self protection Small, strong, quick deploy, extremely sharp right out of the box Neck chain is not durable enough for more than a few deployments, heaven forbid any depolyment become necessary.

Extremly sharp out of the box. Got it for a boot knife, but it a little long. Still use it as one though.

This knife is well designed and wicked. It possess great penetrating powers' and can be hidden very easily. It would keep an adversary or attacker at bay once he or she was bitten or stabbed by the stainless steel blade, it would most likely zero them out as it is a stabbing weapon more than a slashing one. I can do both with ease. One thing I noticed with Cold Steel neck Knives is that thy come with a black chain to string around your neck. I am now on the lookout for anyone who has a black chain around their neck. I have changed mine to a leather boot strap which has been saddle soaped and mink oiled. To connect the ends on the strap I use a plastic compression holder you can get at any hiking store for bag ties, etc. If an adversary pulls on the leather strap it pulls freely and you won’t be strangled with it. It also allows you to adjust the position of the knife on your chest where it is not noticeable. Beware of people with black chains around their necks as they are most likely caring and Cold Steel Neck Knife a dead give away. An Excellent knife!

Good at what it does

This is what I would call an "ugly little surprise" A good last ditch self defense tool . It certainly won't break when you use it for this purpose. Solid and well built .

Good value

For the money, this is a pretty good deal. In the tanto point design, the blade thickness is pretty stout all the way out to the tip. The handle is a good shape for grip retention. Overall, the knife & sheath present a very slender profile. However, the length somewhat limits carry options; I can't picture using this as a neck knife and it's a bit long for IWB carry. I think this knife with a 1" shorter handle and 1" shorter blade would be great.

Nice stave

This thing is great for putting holes in things like water jugs, gas tanks and boat hulls. Needs a better hand guard.

Cool little blade

This is a cool little blade. Not as sharp as i would have expected from a cold steel product. A lot smaller than I expected as well. Still, I like it a lot. Cool like neck knife to wear under your shirt.
