This knife is worth the money! This is a tank of a knife but compared to some other cold steel models this one is easier to carry. I have the SR1 in clip point and the SR1 Lite in tanto. Both versions preform really well, obviously the regular SR1 will do better given it’s blade steel. My only complaint is the G-10 being too rough. All I did was light sand it with some 320 grit sandpaper and now the handles are still grippy but not too much. CS definitely got this design right.

I’ve been using this knife for years .. I love it ! I mean I have always said “ the Buck 110 is my all time favorite folding knife “. It’s near and dear to my heart since the late 70’s . But now ??? Having a folder like this ?? There is really no comparison. I highly recommend!! Robust and heavy duty with high end steel . If you don’t want to carry a big ol fixed blade and a pocket knife just does not do the job in a survival situation, or just basic camping tools , look no further. The SR1 is a grand slam ! Made in Taiwan???? I have yet to be disappointed with knives made in Taiwan . Just think of the price tag if this was made in the USA . This knife is made of US materials. By skilled bladesmiths . Again - highly recommended!! I won’t steer you wrong . PS - even if I’m not using , I enjoy just flipping from time to time .

Stout!
The CC SR1 is my pocket carry. Out of the box it’s good to go! 1. Great grind and edge . 2. Fit and finish is excellent. 3. For such a stout build it is surprisingly light. 4. The grip is comfortable and secure. 5. As I’ve come to expect from CC deploying the blade followed by crisp lock. “Confidence” 6. The clip is ridiculously stiff, but once secured it’s not coming loose. I own several of each of the following lock blades including Cold Steel, Bench Made, Spyderco, Buck, Rigid, Kershaw, Gerber ….. Old Henry and several others My SR1 is one of my favorites

If you consider a knife a "tool" and want something that is not going to fail then this should be a serious consideration. It's called the "SR1 (search and rescue), but it could have been named "ST1" (survive and thrive). This knife hasn't left myou side upon receiving and purchased a second one for my "go bag". For the money your not likely going to find anything that compares. The blade is built from 5mm S35VN barstock sandwiched between two thick slabs of OD Green G10 and a virtually "unbreakable" Tri-Ad lock. Beautifully designed by Andrew Demko and rivals the strength of even some fixed blade knives. It has the attributes of a fixed blade, but folds and easily fits in pocket. Buttery smooth operation of both the blade and lock. This knife is capable of handling anything in its path (begging for more) so the 7+ ounces of weight is not an issue to me. Priorly the 4-MAX was the best collaboration between Cold Steel (Lynn Thompson & Andrew Demko), and for the 2017 Cold Steel line up of products this is "the one". I highly recommend getting at least one of these.

I have 4 Max, but it's pretty smooth TRI-AD-LOCK. CIutting edge angle is also ColdSteel . It might be bargain.

This knife is SUPERB! This knife is as strong as strong is going to get with a folder and it's also a beauty as well. Would love to see an XL version of this with a 5 1/2" blade like the XL version of the Recon 1, Espada, etc. I like the higher quality steel too, well done once again Cold Steel!

I received this knife bout a week ago and I am in love. This knife has great lock up and while in hand you know you can depend your life on this blade. At first the blade seems a bit weighted but soon that does not matter anymore when you go to use it. The knife deploys easy with the thumb stud or a flick of the wrist. What a beautiful blade that they came up with here and the reaction when people see it and hold it is priceless. I know this blade will last me a lifetime and that i can rely on for years to come no matter what task is at hand.

Sturdy knive
I own another knife from cold steel and with purchase I am also satisfied. The knife is well built but not too heavy compared to other knives that I have. The locking mechanism seems solid and won’t fail easily. The only concern is the clip which does keep the knife on the pocket but one has to practice to get it out quickly!

Pros: outstanding quality, very grippy g-10, rock solid lockup, smooth opening/closing, relatively sharp otb, comfortable handle, blade is a beast!!! Cons: thick metal pocket clip is unusable against the rough g-10

Just Brilliant!
This knife can take a beating and then some. I only wish it was lighter to make it around 5 ounces instead of 7. I hope Cold Steel makes this knife and a 5-inch version too and skelotonise the internal liners!
