Tip thickness difference from previous version

I’ve had the G 10 black handled stainless blade, XL Espada for a couple years and love it I recently purchased this one with the green handles and black blade and I notice a pretty dramatic difference in thickness on the tip of the blade. This one is much thinner. Wonder what’s up with that?
