I bought 2 cold steel Chaos knives (the new version)… wow what a knife and double wow wow what awesome service and delivery. I had become brain washed into my buying process (you know!): but I collect tactical tools and especially cold steel everything. Since I was young a billion years ago I found the amazing history and magic that Cold Steel created and the love has never died. I will give the chaos series of the entire group a 500 star rating and the first transaction from a new great place that is providing the things I collect and the treasure that a huge ex football player and longtime abstract artist knows is some precious art and history. I have degrees in both and that doesn’t mean much unless you find the relics that are both (art fact history).

A bit disappointed...

The quality of the blade's finish and grinds are good. The sheath is of the expected type for Cold Steel and of decent quality. The molded plastic handle is okay. The two striker knobs come in a separate little bag within the box for one to install, or to not install. But... The knobs are not made of steel as all the other Chaos series have them made of. They are made of a polymer, probably similar to what the handle and sheath are constructed of. So, they are not going to be a thing you would strike glass or other hard material with, while still being something that would be painful to soft human tissue in a self defense situation. I would have hoped for a minimum of them being made of aluminum, with steel being even better, but... plastic they are. That seems like a poor decision on Cold Steel's part, but it is what it is... They are PLASTIC! The knobs were easy to screw on, and a good finger tightening seems to be more than fine, with they unlikely coming loose under normal carrying situations. Overall, it surely is not a small item. Since I don't have a strong magnet handy, I was not able to estimate where the tang ends on this push dagger... I imagine it runs right down the middle as with the other CS push dagger models. In my opinion, these will likely not be big sellers beyond the initial interest in them. It's large impractical size, tied with the plastic knobs, will likely cause a quick demise of this model. But, as just another unique addition to one' collection, it's okay 😊 Just my opinion.

An interesting take on the Cold Steel Chaos line. The blade seems to be of good quality. Unfortunately, the handle is plastic, not aluminum like other Chaos knifes. I wonder if it's full tang. The biggest problem is the iconic Chaos studs are made of cheap plastic, and the threads (also plastic) brake even when tightening by hand...! This is one of the first item coming out under the new ownership of Cold Steel, and it does not bode well for the brand. Cold Steel did not reply to my requests for replacement studs. You may want to pass on that one, and be careful with future Cold Steel products...

Severe Buyer's Remorse

This was an impulse-buy - NOW I wish I had the money for GROCERIES instead of this clunker! HOW can I begin to rate this knife when I can't get it out of the SHEATH??? The only rating I can give this is to test its aerodynamics as it hits the trash, and cross off Cold Steel on my shopping list.

Plastic studs that snap and strip out from hand tightening and any actual use. Read the other verified reviews. Cold Steel turned into dead steel. Thanks GSM for cheapening an Iconic knife company.
