Cold Steel Hand and a Half Dagger.... not a toy, beautifully made.

I own it and bought it becasue of a fascination with daggers. As a child we had a dagger and sword from a dead Nazi officer (brought back from WWII by an uncle). I like high quality knives and a dagger caught my attention as something to admire and enjoy as a weapon, never expecting to use it. This is moderately priced, modestly boxed, and well made all over. The dagger itself is quite impressive to handle and examine. It is NOT cheaply made; it's very well designed and handsome. It is not really sharp as shipped, but minimal work with a stone and fine polishing of the edge can bring it to plenty sharp to hack an arm or neck seriously. It's got plenty of mass and manueuverability to fight with. And faced with a determined opponent holding it, you should have a good handgun or shotgun or you are in bad trouble. The scabbard is not a knockout, but at this price point you know you will not get a finely detailed scabbard from a skilled swordmaker. It's a fine example of a factory piece, but the design and details are not second rate at all. I could recommend it to you and if you care to sharpen its edges, be careful to stay on the very edge so as not to mar the broad flats of the dagger. All in all, a piece you will be proud to own and no one would sneer at its workmanship for the price point it meets. And keep it away from kids!
