This is a superb idea/product from cold steel, and cheap enough in price. Also, I like the additional weight on these, and if the length is an issue, easily remedied. Highly recommended.

Great training tool

I am new to Kali/Escrima and wanted to get some good training sticks while practicing at home. Since I use 28" rattan sticks in class I simply cut these down to size with a band-saw and sanded the end smooth. The extra weight has helped "open" up my wrists more and the extra weight has helped increase my strength. Great product overall.

Hell of a stick

I've been using this stick for years now. Mainly for trail running and hiking. Way lighter than the African Walking stick and the Dragon that I also own and used as well (love the African Stick). Bought a couple more for my wife and son. Lots of snakes on the trail where I run so having a stick helps me make a lot of noise and vibrations to try and scare them off. So far, it gets the job done. Hikers often see and ask me about it. The material is heavier than the normal rattan but makes it pretty strong, durable and deadly effective as well. Only con is it gets pretty slick when my hand gets sweaty. Overall, a strong , durable and usable stick for training and self defense.

This stick is better than any composite on the market!

This stick is by far the best stick I own. It will never crack, split, fray, splinter, warp or snap from ordinary use or extreme training. You would have to make it your mission to damage this stick. The diameter could be a littler smaller. I've compared the Cold Steel PolyPropylene stick to my other Kamagong, Bahi, Cocobolo, White Waxwood and Teak sticks. Without a doubt I smashed things with Cold Steel I wouldn't dare smash with my other sticks. I would recommend the Cold Steel 32" Escrima PolyPropylene to anyone interested in a pair of sticks that will outlast generations of usage. I would also recommend purchasing them from KnifeCenter.com for the most competitive prices online.

Great sticks

Cold steel hit it on the head with this one (pun) They might be a bit long and heavy as is for traditional eskrima but for full contact western style they are very good. Otherwise, cut them down. I can't believe anyone has a problem with the diameter??? They seem to absorb hits more, less bounce, that takes some getting used to. The only advantage rattan has besides bounce is the ability to choose a stick that is heavier at one end...but these are training sticks so no big deal.

Nice Size.

Good as a single. Multiple uses. Long enough for two handed use: excellent short staff weapon. Also exercise, katas, and a walking stick for those 5' 10" and under.

Cold Steel Escrima

The product is exactly what I expected. As an older person (60+) I wanted a stick that was not to heavy yet durable if I needed to use it. I carry it on my evening walks in the neighborhood. The only difference that I have noted from what was advertised, is that the stick I received is actually 33 3/8 inches long not 32. For me that is a plus, since I prefer a longer stick, but it might not fit for someone that is heavy into martial arts.

Many Uses, Hard to Beat

Until I got these, I used to cut the long wooden riot batons to my desired length for working my stuffed duffel bag-training bag. I even have a custom Laci Szabo Cyborg Alloy Stick for use. I like these as they do not cost a mint, work well with a personal technique of striking on both sides, at opposing ends, at the same time, and don't snap eventually on me like the wood ones do. I also have them as part of my advanced bug out kit for use to suspend a tarp for shelter. I do wish Cold Steel would also make some longer ones as a staff and for cutting to longer desired lengths, but that has no bad reflection on these! With gloves on, these are the perfect thickness for me-I prefer the HWI hard knuckle gloves. I also have the bug out set for using in an emergency trap set up, as well for a perimeter ''trap'' and alert booby trap. Being impervious to all but being tossed into a fire, they are a smart item to strap onto your pack for survival. Finally, for lack of a good branch-they could serve as well as a fishing pole or even be modified for holding a blade. Beats the hell out of trying the like with fragile PVC pipe!

Coldsteel Escrima stick,

Really nice looking baston, I like the resemblance it has of a rattan stick.i probably won't be banging it against other sticks but using it more for walking or jogging. Maybe some solo drills. Overall it's a cool looking baston, and a good price. Thanks again.

Good But Bubbles in Manufacture

Purchased for Escrima training and staging for protective purposes in areas that can be affected by extreme temperatures. Cut clean to preferred length. Chose to discuss the bubbles that show after trimming length and learned that Cold Steel has been acquired by a holdings company. Reps were polite and willing to refund but disinterested in adjusting manufacture process to solve the issue which they assert often happens in this kind of plastics molding. The bubbles are too abundant and too large - this may affect product claims in some listings. That all being written for potential buyer clarity, the stick is very useful, durable and pleasant to use. We have 5 of this same model after adding one from Knife Center and will be keeping them in use and ready to hand. The slight heaviness beyond most Escrima sticks per length is good for some applications and can help with development when transitioning back to standard weight ranges.

Not unbreakable but...

Overall a great idea, and with better quality manufacturing probably would be more durable, however I purchased two of these when they first came out and both broke under what I would call normal use conditions. The reason became obvious - there were multiple "bubble" defects in the material creating air pockets throughout the stick and thus weak points. Even so it was no less durable than a traditional escrima stick, and a reasonable price too.

Escrima

I find that some Cold steel products are well made, but this isn't one of them. The Escrima stick wasn't even close to being straight.

escrima stick is to long

I use the escrima stick in kali class Good thing is they are tuff but they are longer than a normal escrima stick so it makes it hard to work with partners I would not buy another pair because of that Make them 2" shorter and I would like to have another pair
