I am a 6'4" tall and weigh 310 pounds. I use this daily as my cane it came in at a great height for me, the strength of it for my weight is so much better then the other canes I own. I would recommend it for anyone. You will need to buy a 1 inch rubber bottom piece you can get a 3/4 inch one on it but it is really tight.

Very nice Cane with a sturdy built

Very well built cane by Cold Steel. It will make an effective self defense weapon in the right hands. Remember to talk softly but carry a big Cold Steel Axe Head Cane!

Just received my 'axe cane'. Very nice indeed. For the price point:awesome! After wrapping the shaft just below the handle in black sports tape, putting a rubber cap on the end and a leather thong on the handle, it is ready for use.

If I had to choose between this and one of Cold Steel tomahawks I would choose this cane because its surprisingly hefty with a longer reach. I'm 5' 11" and 230 lbs. I trimmed the cane to 35" and it fits perfectly. I could easily see myself swinging this at a young punk with a big mouth :- ) then limping back to the nursing home - HA!

Great Investment

Just got mine in the mail and I love it. It looks very stylish, feels very strong and comfortable, and is surprisingly lighter than I expected. It’s almost the same length and weight as the wax wood bokken I’ve trained with. My only issue is the lack of a rubber foot. I know Cold Steel expects owners to cut off excess length if needed, but the smooth tip slips across flat surfaces. Other than buying a foot separately, I would highly recommend this cane to anyone who needs a supportive cane or just a stylish edc defensive tool.

Walk softly and carry a Big Stick!!!!!!!!

Great for defnse and keeping ones balance. The use on the trail was great used the hook to latch on to trees while climbing hills. It was a bit haevy but not a burden. allin all it will last a life time. I feel more secure with this in my hands even on a plane now i have to reasonable amount of protection. A purchase that will last a lifetime. Happy travels and "Carry a Big Stick".

Multi-Tool

I use this thing for everything but a cane. I pull items off of high storage shelves in the garage, a back scratcher, a truck bed retrieval tool, home defense, I hold it during football/baseball games as a worry tool as I pace around the living room and I even chased off a racoon that wanted to come in our back door. Candidly, I hope I never need to use it as a cane. But, with that said, I love it. I have it with me all the time. Don't sit there and wonder what you will do it with it.. buy it now and wonder what you won't do with it.

Best came money can buy

Not only is this a great cane, I can use it for self defense if needed. No more being afraid of dogs or crazies because it won't break on me. I think the best part about this cane is, knowing that it's strong enough to wedge under a door knob for extra security! Also makes a great walking stick when heading to the fishing hole. Last cane you will ever need.

Just what the Dr. ordered

Just had total knee replacement surgery. Needed support for a while after. This cane fits my needs and personality. Nobody was surprised by my choice. Cut it to size, added a rubber cap from dugstore and im off. Its also cool enough to carry on walks even when not needed for support afterwards. Never hurts to have a little something available if needed.

Axe ur attacker

Carry on hike or on trip to store. A blow to any place on body is definitely going to render your attacker helpless

Damn good.... tool/aid/stick/(weapon)

Had to cut an inch off the end and install a rubber cap. Not as heavy as I thought it would be- good, have ME/CFS. Easy to wield but luckily I haven’t had to. Not THAT obvious it’s a self defense aid as well as a walking aid.

Excellent cane

A good solid cane that can be carried with confidence. A textured overall finish for good gripping. I added a paracord lanyard and of course a tip and away we went. For those who read this and order the cane. 1)You will need a 20mm+ size tip. That is a "large". 2)It is a long cane. Some may need to cut it shorter. Use a fine tooth blade at a lower speed an there should be no problem. I am 6`3" and it could be a bit shorter. But will use as is since it is not any everyday user.

Great cane for a great price!

I really like the feel of the cane and the weight is just perfect. I take it on outdoor hikes and it makes a nice deterrent when I have to scare off the coyotes in my area. I will take it out in the winter to see how it deals with the cold (I'm here in Canada) where the winters can get a bit chilly. If it holds up I will give it the full five stars..

Useful every day carry tool

Purchased as had both hips replaced within 3 months. 5'11, 200 lbs, 75 yrs, active, strong, athletic. Length was ideal for me. Black rubber tips less than a buck for two at Ace Hardware. Axe-shaped handle is very handy for walking, standing, opening doors, pressing buttons, etc. I no longer need the cane support but have kept carrying the cane. -- Because we live in interesting times. I'm going to see if our local martial arts establishment has any training in stick/cane defense. I feel the axe head cane is a bit heavy for speed work, although I can handle it due to weight training and tennis. Ideally, would like to see the head heaver and the cane lighter but just as strong. Would have to be carbon fiber or fiberglas. I bought the expensive and discontinued carbon fiber, golf ball head cane and gave to a friend that really needs a cane. If Cold Steel still made the carbon fiber cane I would buy, and carry that. Speed is important
