looks great, works great, and a true value!

My 3rd back injury seriously limited in my range of movement. I've been using my Cold Steel White Wax Wood walking stick to assist me moving around the house. It works perfectly, but living in SoCal, it isn't very outdoor or public friendly. I decided to get a cane and did some research. Once again, Cold Steel delivered with the Dragon walking stick. This is a great looking, fully functional, walking stick. 2lbs feels a little bit heavy but that is negated for its durability, strength and use a potential self defense item. The detail from tip to toe looks amazing. Everything from the head, belly and scales and curvature is very well done. I've seen many depictions of dragons that look like cartoons, but the style on this one is correct IMO. I added a 1 inch tripod base from Amazon and improved its stability and its ability to stand on its own. I also gently sanded the sharp teeth to improve its grip. The grip is large vertically, but still feels good even small hands like mine, Could be a little longer horizontally IMO but it still works. I added a few drops of red paint to the eyes and nostrils to make it uniquely mine and the look now "POPS!" even more! At this price point this was an excellent purchase. If you need a cane, walking stick, or self defense item, this will serve all purposes and you'll be very pleased.

I had knee replacement, it helps me walk.It is strong and heavy, so if you don't like heavy walking sticks, stay with the cane the hospital gave you. I live in a town with a lot of, "homeless people." It is very sad, but most of the homeless in my town are "violent and insane or violent drug addicts. The strength and heavy weight of the cane has help protect me more than once. This is one of "Cold Steel" many great products. It will work for you!

Cold Steel Dragon Walking Stick

I use the walking stick every day. I was in a serious accident that cost me a head injury that greatly affects my balance. This stick easily bears my weight of 185 pounds. I did however, place a one inch rubber boot with a steel shank in it for added stability. The boot will also prevent wear on the bottom of the cane. The cane can also be used as a defense weapon. It holds better than a baseball bat. Like different types of steel, there are different types of plastic. This is a Top Shelf Polypropylene Plastic. If you were to strike someone with this cane, be sure you are in the legal right to do so. This cane can really mess up a person's health record immediately. The entire cane is so strong. It is built so a car can run over it, and it comes out undamaged. I give this cane my full endorsement, not only as a martial artist with 49 years experience, but as a disabled veteran that needs an edge.

Great Stick!

I collect sticks, & this quickly became my favorite. The polymer is extremely sturdy, & it looks great. It fits me fine, but I'm tall. Shorter customers should be able to modify it easily with a saw. It is also a beautiful stick. I get lots of questions & compliments.

Cold Steel Dragin walking stick.

Really got this because I just had total knee replacement and was an excuse to buy one of these. Product arrived quickly, packaged well. I am 6'1" but still trimmed 2" off to achieve the right length, also added a rubber crutch footcup as the tip is slick and slides on most surfaces. You'll need a 1" tip, can be a little hard to find. Also, I took a rasp and took the edges off the top and teeth where I felt they contacted too sharply with my hand. Does not effect the appearance in any way. Good value, wish it came with the rubber tip though. It's heavy, so be prepared for that, and thick. Wasn't an issue for me, but could be for someone of slight build.

martial arts instructor, with double knee replacement best cane ever

I am a martial arts instructor and my students gave this cane which I had spotted in line. I had double knee replacements and this is the best cane. I have seen even vs the medical equipment stores. I am 6'2" and about 200 lbs the cane easily supports me even when I am unsteady or need the extra support such as climbing stairs . I believe I have sold over a dozen of them to those who stop me to ask about the cane and I let them lean on it to try. The only thing I would recommend is to put a rubber crutch cup on the bottom to keep the cane steady and from slipping. I found a black one at CVS put in warm water to soften added a little soap and placed on cane it has been a great help and never slipped or fallen off. I would buy another one however the cane is so durable I am sure it will last a very long time.

DRAGON AND FIRE

These were replacement canes for a building fire. I've been using Cold Steel canes for a few years with great results though the grips on some are over large even for my ham fists. They hold up and they support great weight easily while giving you a self defense device. I'll save you the trouble and tell you they trim easily to length with a hack saw on the polypropylene. All the synthetic canes and Cold Steel Sjambok work as advertised and better. I use them and I recommend them, which explains why I've been waiting a tad longer for some of my replacements since the building fire that destroyed my alternate Cold Steel canes. They will melt in high heat. they hold up in the woods and jungle, especially Panama and Indonesia.

The best.

In 2005 I busted my spine and pelvis, tore my pelvis off my spine and punched my hip through my pelvis. In 1995 I tore off my achilles and calf muscle completely playing sport. In 1985 I was in a chopper accident. With 14.5 inches of steel rod running through me I know a good walking stick when I use one. This is the best. No comparison. (It is pretty heavy, and perfect for some short-stick type self defence. Watch some Massad Ayoob vids, you'll get the idea.)

Its a beast

Bought it as a walking assist/ self defense accessory. Heavy cane, I WOULD HATE TO GET HIT BY IT.. This cane is good looking, great detail. It is not made for a small handed person. I am 6'1 and can palm a basketball and my hand just fits around the handle. For me it was money well spent. For a smaller person, I would suggest another cane.

Sturdy and fun walking stick!

Very nice detail with only a few rough spots that needed smoothing. I added a 7/8th inch cane tip by wetting the cane end with rubbing alcohol to overcome the very tight fit! Mushu (as my son calls him) with his new "shoes" is ready and able to bite any aggressive dog and to dissuade any trouble makers during our walks!

It's beautiful and I love it

I need a cane to walk most of the time and I am proud to use it. It is strong and has a very good look. I would not be afraid to use it for self defense. I absolutely have no cons about it.

A great walking stick!

As a walking stick, this cane does tremendously. It has an excellent weight and stability. Also, being made of polypropylene, it can take a lot of wear and abuse. I was also impressed with the amount of detail that Cold Steel was able to put into the walking stick, especially on the scale and head. However, as a mobility aid there are certain things to consider. First, the length. At 5”11, holding the stick raised my arm slightly. This would make it somewhat uncomfortable to walk with. I believe this can be fixed if you cut the stick. Secondly, the head is quite large. This makes it difficult to grip, even if you have large hands. All things considered, a great stick. Would recommend to those who are on the taller and stronger side of the spectrum.

Mighty Dragon.

Cold Steel definitely got this one right. It's beautifully detailed, stylish, and very robust. It's not a light stick at all. It's heavy, thick and very sturdy. A real handful. It gives good support but unfortunately doesn't have the most comfortable grip. It's not subtle, but at the same time, it doesn't look like a cheap piece of plastic. Unlike the Cold Steel faux Blackthorn, which looks like a complete joke, this stick has a cool dramatic appearance. If you're looking for something different in a walking stick that will function extremely well as an impact weapon in a self-defense situation, this stick is for you. I love it.

Cold Steel Dragon Stick

Aloha, The Cold Steel Dragon Walking Stick was easily cut to fit my height. I bought a 1" cane tip to put on the end, and the stick is now a great cane. The teeth in the mouth was a little sharp, so I dulled them with sandpaper. The head is easy to grasp and comfortable as I walk using the cane. The cane is heavy...even with me cutting about 6" off the length, it weighs 2 lbs. I've been training with the equally heavy Ka-Bar cane...also from KnifeCenter..., so doing 5 strike drills with the Dragon stick didn't present a problem. I just have to grasp farther down the shaft to get a good grip. I use this cane to help me with walking...I have gout and nerve damage in my foot. This was a good purchase. Too Big Handle

Awesome look! Outstanding strength and durability. The handle on this cane though, is just too thick for a normal sized hand. Mill down the grasp and this would make it more user friendly. Otherwise, a classy self defense cane.

Dragon Walking stick fit 6'5" and big hands

What a sharp design, fits a big hand. Had to order a rubber locally...consider including Only issue requiring attention - I had to use a power sander to smooth out the Dragons Teeth (knew I would have to by reading other reviews) please fix this - its a cut finger waiting to happen! Otherwise...feels strong and fits 6'5" G

Way Hefty

Got my 'Dragon Walking Cane" yesterday. Should be called "Moose Stick". True to previous reviews, it was necessary to smooth out the rough edges on the teeth and top of the head. It is more comfortable to the grip but still a bit large for my hand. I have been using canes for some year now and this one definitely qualifies as a BUBBA BASHER. Because of handle size and square edges, it does not rate a 5 star review. I will carry this thing where self defense might be an issue but not as an every day cane. Good conversation piece, however.
