Southern Gentlemen's walking stick

My Cold Steel city waking stick is quite handsome and very robust. (See for example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S_WSI1KX6R4.) It fits both formal and informal situations, thus I carry it everywhere - from opera to hiking - although I actually do not need it for support. And as an elderly (78) southern gentleman, no one ever questions its presence. (Recall, Gandalf was allowed to keep his staff – much to the later chagrin of the guard, when he said: “Would you deny an old man his walking stick?”) It is an effective defense weapon. For those that have an interest in such things, I suggest that one google “cane fighting.” I found KnifeCenter.com prices less than those of the manufacturer Cold Steel. It is highly recommended.

Got this for my wife. She loves how lightweight but well made this stick is. Not only does it help balance but she feels secure.

Built to last

The finish is great, craftsmanship is solid, my only reservation is the rubber tip at the bottom in more functional than aesthetic. I think they could have found a better balance.

Cold steel walking cane

Very stylist, smooth and the cane is all that and some. My wife and if used a walking cane. I will buy my wife one. Would be nice for her to have a handle she could drape over her arm. I just take it an slid it under my army when I need to used both hands. Like bat masterson. Love it.

Cold Steel City Stick Walking Stick

I use the stick as a hiking stick. It is very strong and can double as its name suggests. Also, in these days of being careful of one's security, this stick can be used as a self defence weopon. The chromed knob would leave a nice mark wherever you might choose to direct some attention to an unwanted assailant.

Perfect for me

This stick is shorter than Cold Steel Slim, and is noticably heavier. The weight in fact for me makes it preferable to the slim. It is a nice stylish stick that looks the part and functions well.

Nice looking walking stick that can be employed as a crime deterrent

I have had a city stick for a number of years and use it frequently when on walks with my dogs.. It goes with me when I know I am likely to be walking or standing in line for long periods, like when called up for jury duty, for appointments at a VA Hospital or standing in line to enter popular restaurants.. I think that a cane made of the same material would be appealing to anyone that has almost walked off without their stick or when you are fiddling around with both hand to find an ID, credit cards or cash from your wallet.. I use a loop of black parachute cord to slip around the stick at the knob to put my arm through when in that type of situation.. At my age I would have to commit to putting everything I have into an attack or counter attack on someone attempting to do me harm.. Used correctly, I believe I could inflict enough pain on a person with the thin end of the stick to hopefully change their mind about hanging around to take a blow from the shiny knob on the other end.

C/S City Stick

Very good looking,classy,very sturdy cane. Does not look like a weapon. As compared to the C/S Blackthorn stick, which is clunky, ugly, and oversized. I have read reviews that the City Stick is too heavy, but I like the weight. So far, the smooth head is comfortable in the hand, but I understand that there is a replacement head that is like a handle. I'll be looking to find one. I wish there was a provision for a lanyard so that you could loop it over your arm to keep the stick from falling on the ground, if you want to use both hands to do something. Like get you wallet out while standing at a store checkout counter.

Very satisfied with the product and your quality of service

I use the product as a walking aid. Construction and weight is great. The only thing that is not so great about it is that the ferrule at the bottom is not very durable and will have to be replaced in a couple of months. You should carry some spare ferrules for the City Stick.

Cold Steel Walking Everywhere

perfect to add a touch of class to the old wooden classic cane. Modern, lightweight, well balanced, and yet just enough heft to give you the confidence to walk anywhere anytime knowing you have a means of defense if needed. Since the ball is not ever going to be swapped out or removed it was given a treatment of thread lock to secure it firmly. Good to have the option though.

Urban Cudgel

If you have had any sort of baton training this is a very good combination of cane (fake the limp) and riot baton. The heavy-ish metal handle makes a dandy cudgel, however the overall weight will slow you down if you do not exercise the requisite muscles. I much prefer the slim walking stick for everyday use in dicey urban environments where an open display of a firearm (best choice) is not an option. To the real point - either of the two are super strong and will not break even with abusive use. That they are useful as canes and/or walking sticks are a bonus.

I'm a classy person so I use it as a nice accompaniment to a a nice dinner but I appreciate the durability and simple fashion. The pommel is a bit weaker than I hoped and thought... It fell from its propped up position and hit the floor and already has a small dent. Overall good cane, I already got the pommel engraved and it looks great

Cold Steel City Walking Stick

Haven't used it yet, but it looks like it will do the job. Got it to use to help me get around after knee surgery. Protection while out walking and support. Very light and great support. Well made and strong.

Shipping experience

Ordered my City Stick 3 days ago to find out that on top of the $42 Canadian for FedEx shipping costs that my package is held at the border waiting on yet another $25 payment for border fees and taxes. Not very Canadian consumer friendly at all.
