If you need a cane, it might as well be this

Really takes some of the edge off my early onset gout diagnosis that now I have an excuse to upgrade my edc with a hefty cudgel that presents as a classy walking stick. If I'm going periodically become handicapable anyway, I might as well have a cane that doesn't remind me of my grandma and keep a little extra "keep back" on hand as well. This does both! The fiberglass shaft is absurdly sturdy. I can't bring it to bend with my own strength, but it was easy to cut to the correct length. Do remember that fiberglass dust is bad for lungs, eyes, and skin, so take precautions when you cut yours. The head is a real winner. Solid yet comfortable. It fits nicely in my palm and disperses my weight evenly, without any pinching. And the real reason you should get this one as opposed to the other style head is that this stole head let's you hook it into tables and counters. If yk, yk. Before you hit anything with it, I would advise securing the threads with loctite or something tho. The final component to mention is the worst part, the tip is awful. It's just a thin, untextured rubber cap. Tear it off and replace it asap. Not only does it suck for actually using as a cane, it's the biggest giveaway that this might be something other than a nice mobility aid. Put a real cane tip on this, and you'll be able to bring this thing anywhere tho. It's just a particularly study cane after all ;)

Great heavy duty stick but needs some personalization.

This sick is designed to be more than a weapon, it truly can support a good sized man if he should wish to use it for support. The knob is comfortable in shape but the bottom edge of the knob stands away from the fiberglass shaft and has a sharp edge on it. I could see grasping the shaft below the knob during a hard swing and lacerating yourself on this sharp edge. I'd personally prefer not leaving my DNA all over the place if used as a weapon. The OEM plastic tip is a joke, it is too hard and does not grip many surfaces well. If you are using this for support the provided tip is dangerous, cut it off first thing. All is not lost, these problems can be resolved. One additional issue is the fiberglass shaft itself. If you handle the shaft a lot either playing with it or practicing with it you will get micro cuts from the fiberglass shaft. I've had several Cold Steel Sticks and they all had this problem. I will now share with you what I did to correct all these issues. First put a little BLUE locktite on the threads of the knob so it will stay in place and screw in firmly. Second, Look on the web for Double Strength tubular shrink wrap with a 1" diameter at least three inches longer that the length of your cane. Slip the shrink tubing over the cane and at least 1'' OVER the lower portion of the knob. Shrink it down with a heat gun or torch until tight without burning the heat shrink. Trim off the excess shrink tubing on the lower end and put a 5/8th inch rubber cane tip on the bottom which will grip anything. You have now corrected all the problems listed above and have a five star cane.

If you are looking at this item you have all ready read all of the reviews take note if you are a young man in your 20s it could come off more like a clockwork Orange thing if you are in your 30s or older could come off more like Phantom of the Opera very elegant stick

cold steel city stick pistol grip

The city stick is very durable but I was shipped one that was defective. The receiver where the head screwed in was completely loose; fell off as I unpacked it. QC should have caught this obvious flaw. Not impressed.
