Excellent for costumes/cosplay
This whole Cold Steel polypropylene line is perfect for inexpensive stage/cosplay/con stuff, if you're good at painting. Security won't hassle you, as they're not metal or even close to sharp. Just sand with a fine grit, and start layering on the acrylic. If done well (there's tons of You Tube tutorials, if you're not already into art or model-making, etc.), you'll have a prop/costume weapon that looks like it cost $50-$100. As an added bonus, you can actually aggressively spar/train with these too, if that's your thing.
