Fun flipper

This is a fun knife we can't stop flipping it and for my daughters it's lite and stealthy to carry for personal protection and to my wife dismay I tested it on a pork roast to see if it would work like the video and it did I've got boath Fox's and bath went into the pork roast easily . they both made nice slices in the meat .my wife was not as happy as I was she said it was dinner. But the knife for a plastic knife worked well. I f get one you will enjoy it

Pretrainer trainer

Got these for my boys as a pretrainer trainers. They love them! Took the edge & points off, cause boys will be boys. Let them have the real trainers when they master these or not.

Perfect for toe-dipping

I got this because I was mildly curious about balisong flipping and this looked like a great way to see if it was fun. With a day's experience I can say it was perfect for that. It works well enough that you can go from a clumsy version of a basic trick to one where you start seeing how to make it flow. It's not going to last you decades, but you know how much you paid and what it's made out of. It's hard plastic, fairly sturdy, and the blade is actually fairly sharp. But it's a practice flipper, IMHO. Period.

Get what you pay for, which isn't all bad

Let's be frank: I'd not bet my life on it, nor try to compete in a flipping contest. But at that price, who cares? It was a super cheap way to try basic moves to decide if I even like flipping balisongs (kinda, but not enough to pay exponentially more). It can kinda take an edge and doesn't rust, so forgetting about it won't destroy an investment (I use mine for gardening too) And finally, I don't worry about being gentle with it. Oddly, mine hasn't broken, which is a common complaint with cheap balisongs. In the end, I'm satisfied.

Needs a different blade shape

Too light to be a good flipper. But it's plastic and can work. The straight tanto edge isn't impressive. This knife needs a spear point like the arc angel. Half of the top edge flat for flipping. The other half on top, and the bottom edge serrated.

Not what I thought it was.

I always have a couple of trainers around. It is well made and I can use it as a trainer, while being careful. I would have like to know that the blade is, how should I describe it, simi sharp.

I didn’t read it

Well I mean I got what I paid for, I didn’t see the “(hard Plastic)” so I was a lil surprised it’s also A lot fatter than I thought it would be, still it’s a sharp knife & you can cut lime rinds & gummy bears without dulling the blade

Durability is questionable

I use this as a trainer. My main complaint is durability, and the lack of any means to fix failures. The weak points of this knife are the pins. First the latch pin popped out and was lost. Didn't really want the latch, so it's fine. Then the pivot pin popped out. No way to fix, so it's a throw away item.

Nice form, but can't stick the landing

The Tanto version of the FGX Balisong is somewhat of a disappointment after the innovative awesomeness of the double edged serrated model. While that model was designed primarily as a under the radar weapon, the Tanto version, while still usable as such in a pinch, it seems more primarily a practice trainer, as, the edge is fairly soft, and the tip blunted after only a few punches through the Knife Center Shipping Box. It actually didn't seem to be made of the same quality of Griv-Ex as it's double edged cousin. Like virgin vs. recycled plastic. Perhaps the extrusion process / pressure used to form the serrated edges, is somehow higher or different than that used for making a basic knife blank , but, whatever the case, the difference is both visible and, tactile. Perhaps Lynn Thompson would consider making a SERRATED Tanto, and incorporating the multi-angled tip from the double edged sibling. But, if you're just looking for a large trainer, this might just be the ticket for you.

Consider the Lethality of Curiosity

I ordered this because it was cheap. The knife didn't disappoint. It really is. It is klunky and rattly. I learned nothing from this particular knife except that I would have preferred to have my money. For what I paid for it, I am not at all unhappy. I may give it to my grandson if I can persuade my daughter that it would be a good idea. Try not to have any expectations when you order this. You will not be let down. And who knows? You might even like it. Well, I am back to the CS sale items, looking for another knife to buy.Maybe I can get it paid for before the SpydieChef comes in and I am charge for that. (That will be a 5 star review. I can feel it in my hands.............or bones.)

Mistake of real cold steel..

Honestly they should put the (Hard Plastic) INFRONT of the text. Just got it thought it was gunna be a metal Bailsong knife, nope. Plastic.
