Definitely well made.

Well made. The head is evenly shaped with no obvious hand-made flaws or irregularities. The tip is sharp, however the edges of the three blades are quite dull. It has a consistent, high quality black powder finish. The hardwood shaft is straight, well stained, and has no knotholes or flaws. The head attaches with two small screws. This is meant for penetration only, there are no sharp edges.

it's simple...and terrifyingly effective

It fights on foot like a whirlwind...and put on a modified Atlatl...it throws like one of Zeus' lightning bolts. Its head is long enough to parry and thrust VERY effectively...it is good for travel walking...mounted combat...and if you hunt with it?...it hits a target like a thunderbolt. And it's simple...no bells n whistles to worry about in the field. The shaft came to me perfectly straight...and even after heavy use and practice through cold and warm climates...it's still straight. And the head on it?...well let me just say it is a warrior's/hunter's weapon. Terrifyingly effective in it's simplicity and effectiveness...Peace.

Excellent

Other than sheaths, I've never had an issue with cold steel. I trusted my life to them in Baghdad and I'm still here. I already own a light and micro samburu spear, as well as a long and short assegai. The lance point has incredible piercing power, and an excellent weight. 80" overall may sound long, but it's only 6'8". It is actually lighter than I expected, but I am very pleased. It has many uses, to include doubling as a walking staff. I spend most of my time in the woods, and snakes are an issue. Spears give you the advantage of reach which is why I love them. I plan to add a butt cap from museum replicas to the back end.

Great spear, poor handle

This is a great spear. Streamlined with fantastic piercing power. A much more practical spear to carry than those with large blades. Sharp enough to function out of the box. My only really problem was the handle. Mine came quite crooked. Contacted KC to see about a replacement and they told me that every one they had in stock was crooked. In light of that, I bought a laminated hickory fighting staff and fitted it to the spear. It cost as much as the spear and is heavier than the original, but the combination is impressive. Also added a bit of leather grip and a sheath for the head. I use this as a staff while hiking in remote areas as a defensive and survival tool. Wish I hadn’t had to do all that, but for the price it’s a great “starting point”.

Good Quality

Good Quality. Strong Lance Head Material. Strong Handle Material. Using this product as a defensive walking stick. Have had encounters with Coyotes and Snakes when hiking with my dogs.
