Awesome!

This is the best machete I've ever bought. Cold Steel finally is selling a machete with a fully sharpened and polished edge. You could cut someone in half with this thing right out of the box. For $30, this is a must for killing zombies!!!

Buy it. The handle is a hard plastic that could be challenging to hang on to - I just wrapped it with some cloth athletic tape. The sheath leaves a little to be desired but I can't complain too much - it came with one! For as big as the sheath is, to do what it needs to do, it is pretty lightweight. If it was more robust and user friendly it would probably be lots heavier. Seems to fit the bill as a utility tool / self defense weapon. Unfortunately I haven't been able to use it yet. I have seen some critical comments of C.S.'s sharpening job - to that I would say: It's a machete, not a sword. I comes with a pretty aggressive bevel on the blade, more like a knife bevel than a utility tool. That said, it may ding up a bit - hopefully the steel is decent quality.

Finally!

I have 4 other machetes, two of them CS. They finally got the handle right! A quick wrap of F-4 tape for stickiness and away we went. It rolls forward in the hand just right, with the slight knob on the end of the handle giving nice retention on the impact bounce to set up the next swing. Enough weight to breeze through the 1 inch or smaller stuff, light enough for a backhand return slash on the light stuff. Edge retention is great, churches right up with bastard file and stone. I swing chainsaw, axe and machete a lot. I will be ordering a couple more of these. Bonus: It comes with a sheath!

Jungle Machete

I wasn't sure what to expect since this is not only my first machete but also seemed to be a fairly inexpensive one. For some reason I kind of expected it to be thin and flimsy but it isn't flimsy at all. The quality of both the machete and the sheath are fantastic especially for the low price.

COLD STEEL JUNGLE

I keep this machete and a small ax with a 18 inch handle on my wheeler riding around the farm,...they work perfect for anything short of chainsaw work. I've got 5 other machetes and the only one that compares with the cold steel is one I handmade. Can't beat it for the price

Massive and graceful...

Used as one of my daily weapon foe my trainings linked to the blades. Better and heavier than I expected at first sight online and in some videos. As I like to change "a few" any Cold Steel machete I own for years now, for this one I will work on the handle by making it more "special". A wonderful machete reminding me something between the kopis from ancient Greeve and the falcata prized notably by the ancient Celtiberians and also the mercenaries of Hannibal Barca...

Another Cold Steel Homerun.

This is a perfect size and weight machete and it cuts like crazy. The edge comes serviceably sharp, but gets to razor very fast and resharpens easy. This machete is made to work and be abused, something a person can afford to do at this price. You just can't go wrong. Some machete blades on the market are either too thin or too thick, the Cold Steel line are just right. Sure, you might want to get a better sheath, but that depends on how you are using it.

Strong Machete

I received the machete promptly from TKC and took it out to the field right away. The edge was sharp enough for its purpose when it arrived. It is a heavy machete and probably not the best choice if you have small hands or are a weakling! I used this machete to chop out an old ingrown barbed wire fence in the tropical forest and proceeded to waste that nice factory edge. I had this baby flexing just like the Cold Steel videos. By the time I was done with it the edge was rolled and all dinged up from several hundred yards of wire. I took it back and put an electric grinder to it just like all machete experts will tell you to never do. The carbon steel took the abuse just fine. Overall it is just a cool looking machete and the sheath does the job well enough for me.

Probably the best all around machete for the price.

This machete has lots of power, isn't too big, isn't too heavy, it has a nice handle, not quite as good as the barong, but still a nice handle. Definitely a machete to own. Holds a great edge.

Great Machete

Outstanding machete for a good price. Handle is too small for my hands though; but I put tennis grip on it. I had to sharpen it to get the edge where I wanted it to be. I would definitely recommend this for those who wants a good machete for a cheap price.

Cold Steel jungle machete

Overall I like the machete just at the handle was too slick hard to hold onto when chopping other than that it was a good machete

A bit too heavy for long term carry

Made in South Africa , this blade is a little coarse but holds its edge well. Just a little too heavy for jungle usage..
