A Great Bang For The Buck Product From Cold Steel
Over time, I've purchased a lot of items from Knife Center but this Wakizashi sword from Cold Steel is the best bang for the buck item that I have purchased so far. My order arrived earlier today (5/9/24) and was well packaged with a light coating of grease and in excellent condition. Upton inspecting it, I noticed a gap of about 1/8 in. from the hand guard to the handle. Other than that, everything was good. Before I go on, I do need to say that I view this item as a short sword and not a machete. That's what Wakizashis are, short Japanese style swords. My main purpose for purchasing this sword is for home self-defense, SHTF, and a zombie apocalypse ... LOL There are some reviewers that stated their Wakizashi blade was bent. Mine was very straight. and when I applied some pressure to it, it flexed a little but not much. The blade edge had a rough grind and wasn't sharp. But, for me, that's okay. I don't mind taking a few minutes sharpening blades. Everything felt solid. No hand guard rattling. There were also some that complained about the handle. I didn't find the handle to be a problem. It's a tough rubbery material with distinct contours on it. The nylon sheath is well made, simple, and matter of factly with a belt loop. It would of been better if it had came with a sling instead of a belt loop given it's length, but that's okay I can improvise. I paid about $45 for the Cold Steel Wakizashi sword and when I consider the overall quality of it, I got something that's is definitely worth much more than that. If you're into swords, you can't go wrong the this Cold Steel Wakiszashi!!!
