Decent Fifth-Pocket Carry Knife

It definitely seems overpriced based on the materials, but I wouldn't say it's necessarily a disappointment since it is a good EDC overall. I love how subtle the pocket clip is, and it also fits completely into the fifth pocket of my jeans, which is where I prefer to carry a knife this size. It's also very easy to open because of how far the thumb stud is from the handle, so you can really get to the base of it. The Atlas lock seems to be more geared towards those who like to fidget with their knives rather than hard users, but I also don't see it as prone to failure either. I would be careful with closing it though, since the blade does tend to swing freely when the lock is not engaged, and the handle is too small for me to get my hand out of the way in case it does swing closed. All things considered, I don't know if I would recommend this for the money without doing some further research, but it is a decent knife overall.

Very mediocre Cold Steel offering

I put this knife in my cart in June 2022 and waited, because I loved Cold Steel knives, and wanted to try out the new ATLAS lock on this knife. Right out of the box, this knife looked cheap and was very light weight. Maybe it has to do with the cheap looking and feeling GFN handles. Maybe its because the blade isn't beefy like so many Cold Steel blades are and uses cheap 4116 steel. Maybe its because locking this knife doesn't have that satisfying loud CLICK that my American Lawman, Recon 1, AD10, or the 12 other Cold Steel knives I own all have. Or perhaps its because the ATLAS lock gimping is very sharp and unpleasant to activate with my finger. And all in all, I am quite underwhelmed with this knife. Honestly, a good price point of this knife would have been $30 or less. I am only keeping this knife as a one off and will be wary of purchasing any cheaper and smaller Cold Steel knives.
