Solid Knife

Picked this knife up from a different source while it was a little cheaper, I am very happy with its performance. It would be cool if this knife was offered in different steels, but AUS 10A has been nice to me so far. Have used to cut through a good bit of tin sheet and cardboard. The blade is very easy to sharpen with simple stones, comfortable in hand, even when choking up, with small hands maybe not so much, and I do like flipping the Atlas lock. Very little blade play and runs on 4 washers, 2 teflon and 2 bronze, the blade swings nice and freely with the lock open, as well as being nice and “flick-able”. Easy to take apart and clean. Quite comparable in overall length to a Buck 110, and also a little lighter in weight. Definitely a full size pocket knife but if you have larger hands I doubt you’ll have any issues. Lastly, fits nice in any pocket big enough for a full size folder, and I like the clip, site deep with just the lanyard extension protruding.

New daily driver!

I was using the vosteed Valkyrie which is no slouch either with nitro-v steel… but I had to get this. Read any other forum on the inter webs you’ll see a lot of “dumb name” comments. Yes, yes it is. You also see a lot of “pedestrian in looks” comments. Meh, to each their own but I could care less this thing is a veritable tank after I’ve EDC it for about a month now. After enough time of fidgeting with the lock and learning where the center of balance is in the handle, I can flip it open unassisted with one flick of the wrist. A manual switchblade, lol. Aus-10 steel it’s made from is a known winner and the penetrating power in a seax tip is unreal. I use mine to murdicate corrugated on the daily and I scare my co workers with how efficient I’ve become! Is heavy. Who cares. Ad lock 2.0 is strongest on market and now easy to operate and fairly quiet now compared to the Spartan’s original iteration of the ad lock system. Handle is a lil slick but textured just enough, curvature fits the palm of my hand perfectly and I really can’t think of anything to complain about with what seems to be a solid winner. I was worried about cold stew after the last seax I bought came from India warped but their Taiwanese steel? Hahah whole different friggin ball game buddy. If they continue with modes like these it doesn’t matter who owns them, cold steel will always be around.
