Not bad, would have happily paid more to get more

Got it today. Not as great as I wished but not bad. Certainly not as great as the original. But it's cheaper priced than the original was when it was released in the early 2000's. Kinda has a cheap look and feel to it. Time will tell how well the aluminum handles hold up. Wish it had a latch gate. Overall I am glad I purchased it.

pretty slick

The knife is great. blade is shaving sharp w/ a nice finish. i was kinda worried about the aluminum handles being really slippery but the satin finish gives it a nice bit of grip and its super light. the overall build quality feels great. would like to know the grade of the aluminum they used cause it feels much lighter than my squid mako 4.5 while being fairly similar in size. still has some of the original features like a floppy latch, but no pocket clip or leather sheath like the listing said. it also showed the original finish on the handles in the listing so hopefully that gets updated if they come back in stock. Its honestly not the best flipper but it doesnt seem like they were trying to make it for the flippers. Seems the goal was to make something true to the original design (even if it is a bit dated) rather than a dedicated flipper and at that they succeeded.

Slightly Disappointing

Just received after pre-order. I won't comment on how it flips as I am a novice, just the quality overall. The Pros: Seems pretty well made, machine work is good. The blade finish is amazing, very well done and good polish job. Decently sharp with even edge bevel. Handle machining well done with no defects or sharp edges. The Cons: It is so incredibly light it feels cheap, like a toy. It needs more weight. Feels like it weighs as much as a Bugout. Does not come with a leather sheath like the description. Does not have a pocket clip on one handle like all the early descriptions. The blade play is bad, the back side of the blade scrapes against the side of the handle when closing resulting in a grinding feeling. The latch does not close in the open position. Only in the closed. Bead blast finish feels cheap. Overall feels like a $50 knife. For less money, the Revo Nexus feels significantly better.

The handles are satin not shiny. the handles do not contact each other open or closed. 1/4" gap between them closed. 3/8" gap between them when open. blade is 3mm thick with a flat grind. does not come with a leather sheath. came in a Cold Steel cloth pouch.

Incredibly mediocre

Not at all like I was expecting for a re-release of a classic. Nothing like as described, including the sheath. Indifferently ordinary. Looks and feels like a gas station knife.

Could Have Been a Contender

I'll start with the blade, excellent material, well finished, very sharp -- a winner. The handles, not so much. Mill work is well done. Way too much material removed for aluminum handles. Way to light in the handle, leaving significant blade bias. Feels cheap. I would NOT purchase again.
