Impressed with my Cold Steel Leatherneck Bowie 10.5"

My order arrived today (11/21/23). It was well packaged. Upon inspecting the Cold Steel Leatherneck 10.5" Bowie knife, I couldn't help but be impressed with the quality of workmanship. There were no imperfections. The blade, grip, and sheath were excellent and solid. It had a very nice feel to it regarding the weight and balance. The blade was sharp and the grip felt perfect in my hand. I plan on using the knife for self-defense and medium duty survival/bushcraft. The sheath complimented the knife and fits perfectly. The material is similar to Kydex and is weather resistant. Cold Steel did a great job with this knife. Thank you Knife Center for promptly shipping the order to me.

Works well for felling a tree

Just used this knife to fell a dead birch tree, with a diameter of about 10 inches. It did not take long to hack through tje trunk I got a blister from the handle. The blister eventually broke so I got an open wound from that hot spot. But no complaints, the tree fell with reasonably little effort and the wound will heal. The knife maintained it's sharp edge as expected. The sheath works well when just stuffed inside the pants. No need to put the belt through the loop. I already have two of these.

Working man's Bowie . . ?

I've been as long-time fan of D2 knives, typically robust, tough, and eminently pragmatic; this Cold Steel Leatherneck Bowie is no exception. In general terms, I knew what to expect when ordered, and yet was pleasantly surprised to see my expectations exceeded. This is a damn fine example of a "working man's Bowie", a bit heavy, yet well-balanced. It can do everything I ask of it--I don't abuse my blades, but I don't baby them either--they are tools, to be used and maintained as such. The Kray-Ex handles are comfortable, yet very slip-resistant: and, I've come to appreciate the inherent security of the forward-canted crossguard. The Secure-Ex sheath is very snug fitting--almost too snug, but I suspect that will ease up with use. This knife will no doubt see considerable use, so much so that I'm tempted to acquire another the keep pristine in my collection.
