Great sharpener I love it can't wait for ex ex fine.

I have a 220 and a 600, and the 1200 puts a mirror edge on my knives. Scary sharp!!!!!!!! Durability, come on, I have only had it two weeks.( only place you let me write)

Defective stone

I have been using this stone for years for finishing the edges of expensive knives that I use in my profession. This is the third DMT D8E 8" that I have purchased over the last few years. I have always been happy with the quality of these stones until now. The stone that I recently bought has flaws in the surface that could potentially ruin a knife. There are raised areas along the outer perimeter of the stone that you can easily feel with your fingers. If the knife were to come in contact with these areas, there goes the $90 knife. I have still been able to use the stone by carefully positioning the knife so that it doesn't come in contact with the edge of the stone. But what if the flaws had been in the center of the stone? This is really unacceptable. Perhaps my defective stone is unusual, but I think quality control at DMT needs improvement.
