Excellent product for setting (or re-setting) an edge
Very nice to have the ability to easily adjust a factory edge bevel that's too thick for my preferences, and doesn't take hours to do. Make sure to use light pressure, and let the stone do the cutting. The thing with DMT stones is that they take forever to wear out. There will be an initial loss of cutting aggression after it has been used for a little while, because the diamond dust that's sitting right on the very top (that cuts so deeply) will embed in steel and rip off of the stone, but this is kind of like breaking in a gun with a few hundred rounds. Once those really sharp little teeth have been removed, the stone will cut slightly more slowly but with a MUCH more consistent finish for years and years. I sharpen professionally and have worn out exactly one DMT stone in eight years on hundreds of knives.
