Perfectly quirky
Darriel and his D Rocket Designs are phenomenal. I have owned at least half a dozen of his pieces and all of them (except some issues with the Harlock) were show stoppers! Yes, you are paying a premium, but these are small runs held to a higher standard. Can you get something similar for less? Probably, but nothing has the personality of a Rocket. This particular design is exceptionally slim, and lightweight. One of the sharper knives I've had out of the box, feels great in the hand (I have larger hands) there is a minor hot spot with the clip, but nothing major. The one thing I wish I had known prior to buying this piece is that there is, and always will be some blade play. There is no spring, or lockbar to maintain any tension on the blade, so it does wiggle a bit. That being said, once you place your thumb on the spine to push through a cut, it feels safe and secure. This knife isn't going to be for everyone, but next time you see a D Rocket that calls to you - answer! You will not be disappointed
