Quote: "Symmetry, Grace, & Power"

I have a lot of folding knives, from many different makers, in all quality ranges, manual and auto. Most were acquired with the intent of EDC. After a couple of weeks of use they all lost some of their appeal for one reason or another. Many dealers don't carry this knife. I know, I've been looking to buy another one and I must have gotten the last one the KnifeCenter had. As soon as I saw this knife something about it grabbed me. Once in hand, it's obvious that it has all the qualities of the, possibly, perfect EDC knife. Blade thickness, size, shape, and material. Handle size, shape and material. The size and shape of the handle should fit almost all hands. No finger grooves to be in the wrong spot and not too bulky to carry in your pocket. Clean and simple. This is the first chisel grind edge I have used and, at first it sight, I was a little skeptical. After reading the reasoning for grinding the edge this way and then using it some and sharpening it, it sort of grows on you. This is one solid knife and I suspect it will stand up to some hard use.

Beautiful in its Simple, Strong Design

I previously owned a Benchmade CQC7 with chisel tanto blade and also an Emerson CQC7 with a satin spear blade (maybe also chisel edged, can't remember), and currently I own an Emerson CQC7 with black chisel tanto...and this A100 in satin plain edge. I like the A100 the best - it has the most practical utility. The blade seems a little longer than on the CQC7 series, and is sharpened almost all the way down to the handle (no wasted edge). The edge is conventional bevel, not chisel. And oh yeah the handle length is the same as the CQC7, which means the ratio of blade length to handle length on this is MUCH better than on the CQC7. Highly recommended, especially at this price. A little heavy compared to a polycarbonate knife, but the weight feels good in the hand.
