BEst thing you can buy yourself along with this is a 3# sledge like the ones Estwing makes for hitting the striking face on th F.F.! Makes splitting kindling a peice of cake!

Exceptional tool

I use this tool to split seasoned hardwood. Highly effective for this purpose. The kind of quality you normally only find in very old tools, but brand new.
