Pros: Blade Sharpness, Sheath/Scabbard, Handle Material, Blade Material, Materials, Weight, Overall Quality, Finish
The real deal is pricey, but worth every penny.
I originally purchased this as more of a showpiece but after watching some youtube videos on how well it held up I figured I would test it out. It is a NATO grade tool after all. It comes adequately sharp for rational use as is, so no issue there. It clears brush with ease, lops branches, splits kindling and will do pretty much anything you could want from a tool of this size. Edge retention is flawless. Blade finish is rock solid. It erased everything I had ever heard about stainless steel blades. The grip material is supple, yet firm in the hand and ergonomics are perfect for chopping. The sheath is sturdy enough to be used as a weapon on its own. If you have the money then this is a lifelong tool or the ultimate mancave wall hanger, or both. This thing will outlive 200 twenty five dollar machetes worth of work, so you do the math.
