A keychain must have

Highly recommended. The Eze-Lap Model H diamond hone gets five stars for general utility. I always have it on my keychain when a fingernail needs filing, an edge needs smoothing, etc. I don't generally use it for knife sharpening and memory is dim on any blades, or fish hooks, I have used it on, so I will not comment on that aspect. In other words I use it more as a file for smoothing something than I do sharpening something. A woman at Eze-Lap commented that she used it on her dog's nails. I have never had it questioned at any security checkpoints, so it is TSA, etc., friendly. To carry it, I use a section of one inch tubular webbing, with both ends heat sealed or melted shut. I slit one side to insert the hone, leaving a tag end of about 3/4 inch. Melt a hole through the end as an attachment point. Important: make sure to use a loop of cord from the hole in the hone to the keychain (or I suppose hole in the tubular nylon sheath) as a security measure against loosing the hone. My hone holder is attached to the keychain with a Lucky Line Twisty Key Ring. If any leather or Kydex/Concealex workers out there want me to product test a better holder, I would be pleased to do so. ;-)

EZE-LAP 3/4" X 2 1/2" Stone with Groove for Fishhooks

I keep this in my fishing tackle box, it is good for hooks and to re sharpen my filet knife, but be careful it is a little small.
