Flytanium Carbon Fiber (CF) Scales for PM2
I replaced the G10 scales with the Flytanium Carbon Fiber because of the smooth matte surface, and the CF pattern. The machining tolerances are spot on for a perfect fit. Because of the close tolerances, it's important to reassemble the knife with the new scales in a certain sequence. The first step in reassembly should be to reattach the pocket clip. If you do this last, as depicted on YouTube, the holes of the scales and steel liner may not align. The screws will then strip out. I stripped my screws this way, and Spyderco sent me replacements for free–even know it was my fault. I also contacted Flytanium customer service for advice as I first thought the scales were defective in hole alignment. Although there is no phone customer service available, I was able dialogue via email. I was able to resolve the installation of the pocket clip by myself after receiving the new screws. This is a good time to point out that the KnifeCenter web site does warn the purchaser of replacement scales on a Spyderco knife is difficult, and voids the warranty. I can validate that replacing the scales has challenges and risks. I greatly enjoy these CF scales on the PM2 CPM S110V knife. For now it's literally on the "cutting edge" of technology. I highly recommend these light weight scales for the PM2.
